Beach Blanket Bingo!

Today was my friend from Shepherd’s House Bridal Shower. It was a beach theme! I had so much fun. I won the limbo contest, thank you very much! I am so happy for her; she is such a beautiful woman of God. I am also happy for the groom as well. He waited patiently for her; it’s something I can learn from. To know that someone actually did it makes it easier for me to hold out as well.

Prayer and Fast Day 1- You Know What They Say When You Assume....

Because I am a lady I won’t finish that sentence, lol. But I was very upset to be lectured by someone who assumed I didn’t know anything about the Indian history before we did the Bollywood Bridal Shower for my best friend. We knew what things meant what, and we excluded anything that would conflict with us being children of God. So imagine my surprise when I am lectured and told things I already knew. The thing that got me is that this gentleman and I rarely text and he texts me like he has every right to tell me what I can and can not do. All I could think at the time was “Lord, I really want to say what’s on my mind but…..cover me!” SMH, I don’t get men sometimes. I think they’re more complicated than women.

Surprise!

I am so glad it’s over! I feel like I have been running around in circles today making sure we tie up loose ends, but when I saw her face when we yelled “Surprise” she started to cry and then she got so excited when we showed her the sari she was wearing for the night. After that, I was ready to call it a night. But it was so worth it; she is one of those people that deserve to be shown how much she’s appreciated.

Crunch Time

Today is the last lap. We have to make sure that everything comes together for my best friend. I just picked up the sari and her jewelry and it absolutely amazing! She is going to be so excited and happy tomorrow. When I see her face tomorrow, all our hard work will so be worth it. So I saw my ex today and I realize that he hasn’t gotten over me. How do I know? He told me. SMH, you know the lyric to that song “don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone” that seems to be his song for the past year and a half. I don’t understand; if he keeps on holding on to the past he won’t be able to move into the future. And we won’t be able to be friends. I don’t want any emotional attachments anymore, its unnecessary baggage.

Back to Work

I am back at work and anxious to be at home….or somewhere else. Lol I know that is bad to say. I thank God for the fact that I am working, I thank God that He bestowed favor on me and allowed me to keep my job. We had our final meeting for my girlfriend’s bridal shower. I am so looking forward to it! She is going to be so excited! That’s what makes all this work worth while, she is a sweet and genuine person and deserved to be shown how special she is to us. It’s the least we can do; she has always put herself out there for us.

Bring On the Sari's

Today is the first day that I intentionally took off this whole year! And guess what I did? I went shopping for the Sari’s for my best friend’s bridal shower. I love the fabrics and had a total field day learning how to wrap, pleat and tie it. I need to actually have a day where I can just stay in bed and do absolutely nothing. God willing that day will come soon. I wonder what my life will be like a year from now, what would have changed, stayed the same, etc. I went by my old job today and was so surprised at how everyone looked the same way, but I felt different and out of place. That is funny since I was so comfortable there before and didn’t want to leave. It’s funny what happens when you get out of your comfort zone.
