The Countdown Begins......
There is going to be a big change going on in my life this month. I will be purchasing my very first sewing machine and dress form and getting ready to FINALLY go back to school. My mother is also turning 50 this month; I can't believe it. It was only yesterday she was turning 40 and now she is going to be twice my age, lol. My mother got married at 23 and had me at 24 (kind of young, I know) but she said she would do it all again to have us. I already know what I'm getting her: an iPod. I will probably spend most of my time teaching her how to use it but its the thought that counts......Anywho, I need to start making my cards for my wedding consultant/planner and personal shopper business. I am racking up clients. It is cool, I love dressing people and pulling together themes so this is an awesome job. I have my first gig for a Feb 2011 wedding; so I will be so busy. Talk to you guys soon.

Absence Has Made My Heart Grow Fonder.....
I am a horrible blogger; I admit it. I have been so busy and neglected you. So, let me update you. We just had our Youth Convention. The theme was "Experience the Glory" and boy did we. It was absolutely amazing!!!!! My cousin entered courtship and I'm counting down the days until she walks down the altar. So, that leaves me as the token single girl in the bunch now. This basically translates to avoid ALL events where it will be a couples thing instead of friends hanging out ( I discovered that people in relationships are always trying to hook up their poor single friend, lol), seek out my single SAVED friends and start hanging out more often (this means the friends who love the season of singlehood they are in; not the ones counting down the minutes, seconds, and milliseconds until they are in courtship), and enjoy this time to myself to work on anything I want. I am going to try to blog on a regular basis.......

A Weekend to Relax
Stacy, Atoya and I woke up early Saturday morning to look for Stacy's wedding dress. While getting up that early was not on the top of my list for the weekend, the fun we had was worth it. We went to Clinton Hill and DUMBO to check out dresses and did a little site seeing. I think I might consider being a Brooklynite again. Our day included a sushi restaurant (even though I could only have tofu and sweet potatoes because of the Daniel's Fast) and hanging around the DUMBO area site seeing before I had dance rehearsal with the girls. Today ended the fast and I am so happy to see that I have seen so many changes in my life and those who were partaking in the fast. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good. Be blessed.

I Need Glasses!!!!!/Anja Rubik by Camilla Akrans for Vogue Nippon March 2010
I have been puttinmg this off for 10 years give or take.....lol (I'm so serious). I haven't worn my glasses since I graduated from H.S. but lately I can't see anything past a block. SMH. So now the question is what kind of frames do I get? I have no clue! Time to do homework!!!! I'm thinking thick rimmed frames in purple or navy (black is so boring)! Like this but for women (duh)! I don't know; I don't want too look too serious! (BTW, Ashton looks like a Hotty McHotty!)
Anywho....came across one of my favorite models Anja Rubik in a vision of white for March 2010 Vogue Nippon. It appears to be wedding dresses; I tell you I am all for unconvential wedding dresses! This just makes me love it more.
Speaking of weddings.....My friend Stacy and I went wedding dress browsing on President's Day. We found her dress but the dress store won't tell us the name so we will be spending the next couple of days googling so we can find out if they are ripping her off or not, lol. The bridesmaid dresses are from Bari Jay. I love them! The colour scheme is Purple and Pink (she calls it Raspberry and something else, lol) and its the same colours her mom did for her wedding! Too funny!

It's Here!
The day that we have all been waiting for is here! My cousin is married! I danced until I could dance no more. I dragged my niece all over the dance floor and had so much fun! I promised my cousin I would dance and I danced from beginning to the end! Now I can finally get some sleep! Lol, this has been an exhausting experience but so worth it to see how happy they were. I will try to post some pictures.

Last Minutes....
Today I went to get my hair done and spent the remainder of the day with the groom to take care of the last minute things before the big day tomorrow. I am so happy that my cousin has found his help mate and vice versa. I couldn’t think of a better person for him. She’s a humble, sweet, Woman of God who loves the Lord and puts others before her. I pray tomorrow is everything she wants and more!

Changes....
This time next month my best friend will be marrying my cousin. Its so funny how many things are going on, the preparation for a union that will mark a new era in our lives. After this wedding, it will start a chain reaction. We are all at that age now and it’s the next logical step to take. My little sis is in the stages of planning a want to press pause and rewind back t the days when we used to go over to my aunts house to play for hours in the backyard while our mothers talked and cooked in the kitchen. In a couple of years, that will be me and my family. The cast of characters change but it’s the same play.
