Yesterday I was actually able to get a little shopping in for work. I don't know how long its been but I have reached this conclusion: I ABSOLUTELY HATE MALLS! Now that I got that out of my system, let me share with you the basic pieces I bought add to my new work wardrobe:
Fletcher by Lyell Pleated Pant- Urban Outfitters. I love the old school 1940's high fashion feel I had when I tried them on. They made me think of Katharine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall.
Kimchi Blue T-Strap Platform Shoes- Urban Outfitters. I love, love, love shoes that make me think of pinups. The heel and the straps are so adorable and yet they are kind of sexy.
Ruffle Dress- H&M.I bought the dress in black. I realize I don't really have any really cute dresses in my wardrobe. I love the dress in black and it didn't hurt that it was only $14.95!!!!
Tulip Skirt- Macy's. I am not a department store person but I really needed a black skirt so I decided to try Macy's. I found one after spending too much time trying to figure out where the skirts were. SMH.
All in all, even though I am not a mall person (I would love to just spend my day in boutiques or in vintage shops) I needed a few basics and you can't go wrong in a mall if you are looking for basics. Next week, I am definitely going to some vintage shops. I love old school clothing!!!

Shoe of the Moment - Zamberlan Civetta
Hands down the best hiking boots I've ever owned. I have been wearing mine for years and years and they're still awesome. They're comfy, and tough all rolled into one awesome package. No rolling your ankle on rough ground with these on! I have worn them hiking through a creek, on sand, on rocks, through steep terrain, and everything in between. These boots are to footwear what all terrain tires are to cars. So if you're going on some long hikes, or going on a backpacking trip, check out the Zamberlan line. They're not cheap, but they wear like a dream and last forever, so you'll get your money's worth. And no matter what hiking boot you choose, it's always best to go to a reputable outdoor gear dealer and have someone fit you.

Shoe of the Moment - Mario Batali Crocs
I know...Crocs are UGLY. It's true. I admit it. But they're also comfy, and waterproof, and washable. That makes them practical. And if you're going to wear ugly shoes, you may as well get them in the CRAZIEST color you can get your hands on. I heart orange crocs - especially this Bistro style by Mario Batali.
I got these for walking the dogs as I got sick of trashin my shoes in mud, or wet grass, or creeks, or anything else we encounter at the dog park. I especially love these when I'm walking the girls at the dog park near the creek. These have traction on the bottom - intended to be non-slip in the kitchen. This sole helps on the slick rocks when we're playing near the water. Also, the soles are higher in the back than my other crocs, which is great in mud and wet grass. And the best part - these are perfectly washable - I just throw them in our washing machine.
What shoes do you wear when you don't want to trash your good shoes?

Shoe of the Moment - Sofft Candra
I've been sporting these mary janes lately. They go with pants and skirts. And now that the weather is nicer, I am enjoying a break from boots, and shoes that cover more of the foot.
I love love love love love Sofft shoes. They are super comfortable. No rubbing or foot pain even after a full day. The cushioning on the insole makes you feel like you're walking on a cloud. I also love the lower heels for work. Some of their styles are a bit 'grandma', but some are super cute. Definitely worth checking out if you like heels and still want to feel your feet by the end of the day. They're definitely called 'Sofft' for a reason.
And the best part? I picked up these babies for around $30 at Nordstrom Rack! Sweet!
What shoes are you loving for work these days?

I Found Them!
After centuries of looking and waiting………..lol, not really but it feels like it. I found my birthday shoes! They are the coolest, most awesomest (not a word, I know), sexiest shoes I’ve seen in a long time; and they called out to me! I was googling shoes with studs on them because I’m going for a rocker meets couture look (I’m designing my own dress); I saw the shoes and the rest is history…….They’re black leather studded round toe pumps by Dolce Vita. They’re only $225 so my mother won’t complain she’s getting faint when I mention the price. Fashionable and affordable; what more could a girl want?
