Yearn

I found this song while I was cleaning my room for the big move on Memorial Day. The song by Shane & Shane called “Yearn” had me on a high all day as I cleaned. I was watching the video on Youtube from a live concert with Bethany Dillon. I immediately wanted to go out and buy the album. To say you want to yearn for the Lord, you want to burn with passion over Him and only for Him is a bold declaration. It is so easy to desire and crave something you can see and touch; but to crave and desire someone or something you can’t see or touch takes an amazing move of faith. To yearn means to desire; to long after. What would have in our lives if all we desired and longed for was God? Imagine the feeling we would have?

My Top 10 Fav Songs- May 2009

So this time I am actually going to list just 10. It will be difficult, but I think I can do it.

1. Let Go- Grey Holiday
I found Grey Holiday when I looked up their song from the Fireproof soundtrack. I think this song is so cool! It’s talking about asking God to give you the strength to let go of whatever, whoever, etc. We all have things we need to let go of but they admit it’s not easy in this song and they are asking for help.

2. Back to Indiana- The Elms
This song is so cool! I am on The Elms mailing list and downloaded this song as soon as I got to the email. It’s the classic formula that I love about them: old school rock! Can’t beat that.

3. Cartoons- Chris Rice
This song is sooo hilarious! I started listening to it because I wanted a song for the children in Children’s Church to sing it or listen to it. The concept is cute: how would the cartoon characters praise the Lord?

4. Yearn- Shane & Shane feat. Bethany Dillon
Let me tell you about this song. I was at this point where I wanted, no needed more but I didn’t know exactly how to express it. I was listening to Bethany Dillon on Youtube and I came across the live version with her singing the song. I played it over and over again. I want to get to that point where I yearn, burn, desire, and crave only the Lord.

5. Everything is Beautiful- Starfield
This song is cool. I used to listen to it occasionally on my cousins iPod and decided I should download the song for myself. I love it!

6. Thief- Brooke Fraser
I am honestly trying not to be a sickening romantic but I absolutely love this song. I am going to admit that I love Brooke Fraser Ligertwood’s songwriting but this song is so beautiful. It’s about the guy being the thief and breaking into her heart…..sigh.

7. I’ll Love You So- Above the Golden State
Now I am so surprised why I didn’t add this song before. I love this band! They remind me of The Beach Boys but updated, hotter and better yet: Christian. The song is saying that he will continue to love Him.

8. I’m Letting Go- Francesca Battistelli
She’s a new artist on my radar. I love her deep scratchy like voices. The song is what I needed to hear as I made the change into my new room. It is about letting go and letting God. I feel we don’t do it enough.

9. Open Skies- David Crowder Band
This song is rather old but it makes me feel so good whenever I hear it. I love this band; they make the worship experience an awesome one. I would love to go to one of their concerts.

10. Undo- Rush of Fools
This song is an honest expression of someone who realizes they are nothing without Jesus love and grace. We have to ask God everyday to constantly undo us and let Him work in our lives instead.

"Robert Pattinson supposedly had his Facebook hacked. He enjoys the guilty internet pleasure under the name “Randle Patrick McMurphy” according to the latest rumor.

“Randle” engaged in conversation with a friend by the name of Ben Coles. During the confab he admits he “got” with his co-star, Kristen Stewart. Pattinson, according to this, is wanting to be more than just friends with Stewart.

Randle: coping is something im not doing. Its everybody are such tossers. The bottle does me just fine. The girls in this town are quite odd, you know.

Sometimes I just want to press pause on my life and get a good scream in before I press play again. I feel like I am struggling to keep my head above water lately. Between Church, Work School, Bills, Family; I don’t see where exactly I would find time to relax.

I am in a serious cooking mood. I am going to cook up a storm this weekend! I just got this recipe from a coworker of mine for salmon and I am so excited its sad, lol. I love to cook, I find it relaxing. I think that the fact I am a wonderful dresser and chef makes me even cooler (not to mention I am a total geek, lol). I have a magazine called Bon Appetit, it has the coolest recipes and now that I am going to start eating healthy (my family is vegetarians) I have to find healthier habits. So now that I will try to eat healthier (try being the key word) I will try to get some exercise in as well. I haven’t gone jogging since last year! I know, its bad. Just keep the prayer there. Lol.

Keeping On Track

It is always so easy to become distracted and not do what you’re supposed to do. I can always do it later; or I’ll take care of it tomorrow; are the normal responses we have. I am starting to experience that in my Christian walk. I am so busy with church work that the time I do have, I want to sleep. I realize in a relationship, the only way to make things work is if you communicate. If I don’t make time for the Lord on a daily basis, how can I say that I have a relationship with Him? We are going into prayer this week for our upcoming Youth Convention. We want God to move into our youths heart and take permanent residence there. I personally want more than an emotional relationship with God, I want a close and personal relationship where I am constantly looking to please Him, commune with Him, and hear from Him. I know that it will take time; I remind myself that it’s a daily thing to grow in Love with someone. I know I am looking forward to it……

Something New or Something Borrowed?

I just spent my day off (Memorial Day) cleaning and moving into my new room. Mind you, its my mom’s old room. It isn’t so bad right now, I have the bed set up but I don’t have my clothes, shoes, and jewelry in any particular place. I realize how much storage things I don’t have. I have clothes in bags and no place to put them! Don’t even get me started on magazines; they take up most of the corner of my room! It’s really sad. And the horrible thing is that I through away a lot of them and I still have too many. My mom told me to toss them and I looked at her like she asked me to go out back and shoot my dog. Lol. Anyway, I like it so far, the lighting will be something I will have to get used to (my old room had tall windows and faced the street, this room is in the back of the apartment) and the color of the room (its very, very, very bland); but to God be the glory. I have a place to rest my head, so that is all that matters.

Kristen Stewart appeared in The Messengers as Jess Solomon (Lead Role). The Messengers is a 2007 supernatural thriller film directed by the Pang Brothers and produced by Sam Raimi. The Messengers stars Kristen Stewart, John Corbett, William B. Davis, Dylan McDermott and Penelope Ann Miller.

Waving the White Flag

So I decided to surrender and give my mother the master bedroom. I didn’t see the point in fussing and throwing a temper tantrum when I was going to lose the room anyway. I think its better to sometimes bow out gracefully. Lol. Anyway. I am home from church and trying to find a nice way to tell my friends I won't be going to the BBQ because I will be too exhausted from moving furniture back and forth. My room doesn't even look like someone sleeps here yet, let me get back to work. I have work tomorrow morning. SMH.

Everyone's Changing

I am in the beginning process of moving out of my old room I shared with my sister to move into a smaller room that is my mother’s. My sister moved out a couple of weeks ago and it feels so weird to have this large room to myself. I think I can hear echoes when I talk. Just joking, but its crazy how things are changing so quickly. My life sometimes feels like it in on pause while everyone else is on play. I feel like nothing is changing for me. But to God be the glory, I remind myself always that God’s time isn’t our time. Just because I want something now, doesn’t mean that is the time I should get it.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my best friend Lizzy B’s 25th Birthday. She’s officially a quarter life! I am so excited for her; everything is moving forward for in her life. She’s engaged and moving to Atlanta to teach there. I am so happy that she is a best friend of mine. I thank God for her everyday! I have known Lizzy B since we were in JHS. I was promoted into her class and didn’t know anyone because it was in the middle of the term. She befriended me and as they say the rest is history. I am also thankful that she’s a child of God like I am. It feels good to know you have someone to go to talk about things secular and spiritual. To have someone offer to pray for you and also want to shop with you is definitely the best of both worlds, lol.

What's That Behind Your Back?

I was one of those kids that as soon as something broke, I automatically looked guilty. If I didn’t break it or touched it or took it, I normally knew who did. More than normal, if something was broken or missing my mother would ask me the simple question: “what’s that behind your back?” Sometimes, I feel God is asking me that a lot lately. It feels like I intentionally throw a monkey wrench into some things that He has planned for me because I am too scared or not sure its what I want. If we were trusting, knowing that He is in control of everything; why would we ruin what is only best for us. So starting today, I will not throw anymore monkey wrenches in anything, or break something and try to hide the parts.

How Will It Turn Out?

I hate when I feel like I am just standing in the rain. You feel deserted, like you should have known better. I sometimes get frustrated with things when I can’t figure out how it’s supposed to work or will end up. I have to remind myself that God is sovereign. He has absolute control and supreme authority over EVERYTHING! So that means nothing happens without He knowledge or permission. My favorite verse in the Bible Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has plans for us. These plans are good and they are going to give us a good future and ending. So with that being said, we should relax. Let Jesus take the wheel and lead us to a wonderful paradise.

Hello From Planet Michi!

I am blogging from my brand new netbook (ACER Aspire One 10 ½” Red) and I absolutely love it! I am no longer struggling to blog from the confines of my HTC Touch Pro (even though I had been doing it for a couple of months). I am now free to type away and not have to worry about carpal tunnel syndrome, lol. The search process for this was not at all easy, I read up and did serious homework, then I texted my dorky tech buds and the rest is history. My IT friend thinks its cute and he likes the power behind my bad girl! Lol. I feel like I brought a cute little fire engine red car! Well not exactly, but you know what I mean. I am just excited! Don’t mind me.

Headbands Are the New Brooches!

That’s what I am telling myself. I just bought a headband for $60 dollars! Its absolutely gorgeous but my cousin said she will cut me off it I ever make another purchase like that again. I totally see her point, I mean it you haven’t seen it you think its too much. But when you see it, you are hooked! At least I was… Anyway, I totally know when I am going to wear it: to church! Why not? It’s a special occasion (being in the presence of the Lord) it can’t get any better than that right? LOL.

The Ultimate Architect

My cousin was talking about a friend of ours and it dawned on me: Our friend is totally off! Lol, I am just joking but he was doing a lot of things that we couldn’t figure out what was his motivation. I started to think about me and how EVERYONE tells me that I’m a little off kilter; and my excuse is God made me so only He knows how I work. He has the blue prints. When we really think about it, God made each of us a certain way for His reason. God equipped each one of us with a particular ability to reach out and to accomplish His will in a way that no one else can. If we all could do the same thing how much fun would that be? God knew what He was doing when He made you YOU, so stop trying to be someone else.

Sigh.....I think everyone waits for the day that they meet the one that God has planned for them. To be able to say that God has assigned you to be my partner as I continue this walk in Christ has to be an awesome feeling! I see the Youth that are getting married this year and I thank God that they sought Him in their decisions; that they waited on Him for His confirmation. It isn't an easy process, believe me I know. You want to be 100% sure that God is in the relationship and this is who He has for you.....sigh....I wish it was a text book way for everyone but God doesn't work like that. He speaks to us different ways. So as I continue to seek Him and His direction in everything as well as this area; I pray you do the same.

Kristen Stewart appeared in Zathura as Lisa (Supporting Role). Zathura: A Space Adventure is a film directed by Jon Favreau, based on an illustrated book by Chris Van Allsburg, author of Jumanji. How Would You Write It?

If my life was a Jane Austen novel I would be married by now.....Yikes! I am 24 and that's approaching spinsterhood in those days. I can't help but wonder: what would my life be like if she wrote it? But since I have the most awesome writer in the whole world (God) writing my story; it can't get any better. Don't you agree? God is the best writer because He already knows how its going to end way before it begins. Plus, there are no cliff hangers. It has an amazing beginning, middle, and ending. He's the ultimate writer so no one can do it better. I remember reading "When God Writes Your Love Story" by Eric & Leslie Ludy and I have to say it opens your eyes. We let God write every aspect of our life story but we don't want to trust Him to write the one story that He should definitely have a part in.
