What I'm Listening To: Brooke Fraser- Flags

Ok.....So, I will be seeing Mrs. Brooke Fraser (Ligertwood) in concert live on November 19, 2010 at The Highline Ballroom with my sister and cousin. I can not tell you how excited I am. The last time I saw someone perform live was Adele (also at The Highline Ballroom) when she was an unknown and I have been addicted to her music since. It's an amazing experience hearing someone live. It's a raw, unfiltered performance that will either have you loving the artist or hating them in the end. So, that being said; I have a digital download of Brooke's newest album Flags. I'm speechless! Maybe I'm bias (whatever) but I didn't think she would be able to top Albertine but I guess I was wrong. I can't even review it. All I can say is go out and get a copy; she sings about different people and situations and it's so vivid that you see the picture she is painting for you.......SMH. I have nothing more to say. I just can't wait until the 19th.

How have you been?

I did another cover! it's been a while. This song is called 你过得好吗 by 薛之谦.

So i know my mic really sucked... and at the end i started going all off tune. It was because i wanted to the effect that i was crying while singing it, i wanted emotion. But i guess it didn't work out that way. i'm way too lazy to go back and fix it, so i think i'll just leave it like that for now.

take a listen! :)

no makeup on 2NE1

WAHO!!
Ok i honestly knew CL had a lot of make up on in all the photos and videos, but this is beyond what i thought! She completely looks like a different person! I can't believe it.

In my opinion, Park Boom and Minzy don't look that different, but Dara and CL....

here's what the blogger from allkpop had to say:

I know YG Entertainment has emphasized, more than once, that 2NE1 isn't a group focused on looks, but..... seriously? My heart skipped a beat when I came across these pictures of 2NE1 members without makeup on.

Sandara doesn't look too different. Park Bom doesn't look too bad either - She just looks like she came back from jogging with her ahjumma friends. Regardless of how tired she looks, she still carries a pretty face. But CL and Minzy good lawd...

Judging from their straight look and same background, it looks like they posed for these pictures. Why in the world would their company let anyone photograph them like this? And really, I know we all love celebrity secrets, but this is a bit too much for me. Secrets like these should stay in the bathroom and only come out when fully pampered!
EDIT!
i found this online:

YG Entertainment to take strong actions against photos of 2NE1 leaked

YG Entertainment said on the 3rd that they will take strong against the leakage of the several photos of 2NE1 members posing with no makeup on.

A YG representative said, “We are currently investigating into the source of the leakage. The photos leaked out are the stillcut when our staff are deciding on the style and cordi for the girls.”

“We are now investigating into how they were leaked out. This seems like some bad intentions with the recent release of the girls’ new song ‘I Don’t Care’. Our company will make a strong stand that we will be taking actions against whoever leaked them.”

The photos leaked out have shown the members with no makeup at all. Many fans have also voiced their unhappiness with such photos circulating online. Meanwhile the girls’ new song ‘I Don’t Care’ has already gone up to the #1 spot on various music charts

DBSK, hotter than EVAR!

Warning: If you don't want to be turned on like New York on New Year's Eve, please press the back button. The following images have been proven to cause 3rd-degree burns, hyperventilation, and divorces. allkpop is not liable for any physical or emotional damage wrought by the sex manifestation that is Jung Yunho.

Here's the sitch. The Japanese government was concerned with it's population growth. The U.S. State Department reports that Japan's present growth rate is not even growth, it's shrinkage: an alarming -0.139%.

Enter the South Korean Secretary of Sexual Security, Jung Yunho. For a covert, but oh so public, government operation in Kobe, Agent Yunho was brought on stage with a sexy cripple (for sympathy), a prince (for the classy ladies), and two other guys (extra eye candy never hurts). The audience, blissfully unaware of the oncoming lustbomb, enjoyed the concert just like they would any other pop concert. And then, it came.

And then, they came. They all came. Japanese condom sales increased by one sextillion overnight as government officials high-fived each other, reveling in their success. Japan's projected growth rate shot up to an astounding 8282%, as other countries hurried to hire the triumphant savior Agent Yunho and his band of Dong Bangs.

And Japan lived happily ever after. Hell, they even handed over Dokdo.

*********************************
Do U-know about Yunho's Yunho? Well, you're about to because U-know Yunho just redefined what it meant to be a member of DONG bang shin ki. I guess little, or rather large, Yunho was finally tired of hiding in the shadow of Yunho's pants, and finally came out to say "Hey! And you thought Yunho was HUGE in Asia!"
Girls, please have someone nearby ready to do CPR before you see the next part. Guys, well there's nothing wrong with admiring God's fine work, just make sure no one is around when you do it.

Also, you guys should know about their sexy performance in Tokyo LIVE! It's really something, a must see! It also happens to be in HD, ENJOY!

You Give Me Something.....

If you haven't noticed a lot of my blog entries are titles to songs. I grew up in a family where music was always around us. My mother raised me on Contemporary Christian (Point of Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, etc, etc, etc) and Classical Music. As I got older, I branched out into Christian Rap (didn't last long), and ended up in the genre that I love now: Christian Rock & Worship. I also look at my past relationships and I noticed something as well: each relationship I was introduced to a genre or an artist. I remember one of my friends introduced me to James Morrison and Marie Digby (he wasn't Christian, lol). I fell in love with the song "You Give Me Something". I remember just listening to the song and identifying with that feeling. I love when that happens with Worship music. When you hear a song for the first time and you know exactly how they feel and what they are talking about. Like Lincoln Brewster "Lord I'm Amazed"; that song just puts chills through me. To know that its not just you that find the things that the Lord does that are amazing makes you realize how powerful and awesome He is.....sigh.... it's late, time for bed. Be blessed.

That is NOT Entertainment!

I was on Youtube today looking up the video to a song my sister told me about. I stumbled across an "artist" (and when I say artist I use that term loosely) named Lady Gaga. She has a video to a song called "Poker Face". One word to descibe that experience: HORRIBLE! I am not someone to attack anyone but that video wasn't even mildly entertaining. I think she would have potential if she really sang and not focused so much on her "look". You know who can sing? Leona Lewis. She reminds me of the old-school singers. She's so talented. The sad thing about this is that Lady Gaga has 3 singles on the Top 20 List (so I have been told) and Leona? None. Can you really tell me that America is so into the image of things that we don't care about the actual product? It hurts me to think that talented artists are sucessful in other countries but struggle when they get here. Does that make any sense?

Twilight:Bella's Lullaby/Watch Star Wars

So lately I've been updating on all sorts of movies I've watched. Some including Pan's
Labyrinth, and High School Musical 3. YES, a Disney movie :P. I know I know, why? well
I've had a secret obsession with HSM even since it aired on the Family channel! the song "the start of something new" and "breaking free" was 2 of my favourite songs for the longest time. To download HSM3 was only natural for me :P since
I already saw the first 2 on the Family channel

some else related to HSM3 but not really is Twilight. another one of those movies that made a super teen
heartthrob out of the male actor. well i was looking around on youtube and i can across picture sideshow movies with similar background music to them. it was called Bella's
Lullaby to all the Twilight fans, but in reality, it's called "River Flows In You". It is a
piece of brilliant piano score by a Korean pianist Yirma. (i think, this is all just information i gathered on youtube through comments and descriptions)
Yiruma - River Flows In You

and here's how it should sound just in case you are like me, music illiterate :P

well other than that, my Media Studies teacher forced us to watch the oldest star wars ever made. it was ok. but then she showed us a documentary called the of how star wars came to be, the struggle for independence from George Lucas. the magic of the effects, acting, every single little details about all the star wars films! as you should know, my teacher's one of those star wars geek :P but she's awesome and intelligent.

so the documentary really interested be, one of the BEST out there. i wish i could tell you the name, but i just can't remember, my mind is all set on what I'm going to do during the spring break!

my point is, the documentary triggered my old memories of the other episodes of star wars, thus i looked it up on youtube, (yes i'm a youtube junkie!)and i found more than i bargained for. i found a play list of

Star Wars Episodes:
  • 4: A New Hope
  • 5: The Empire Strikes Back
  • 6: Return of The Jedi

I never understood why George Lucas started with episode 4 to film first, he was a weird one :P a genius
