My Top 10 Fav Songs- September

I know I haven't done this in awhile but I have so much new music on my playlist. Here goes:

1. Something in the Water- Brooke Fraser

1st song off of Brooke Fraser's new album entitled "Flags" coming out this month. The song sounds like bluegrass. I love how happy and fun it is. I can't wait to here to whole album. FYI: I will be seeing her in concert with my sister and cousin November 19 at the Highline Ballroom. So excited!!

2. Change in the Making- Addison Road

I love this song. It feels like it was written for me. I love the whole concept that I'm still under construction and God is still working on me. The work is not done.

3. Church Music (Dance!)- David Crowder Band

I love to dance! This song is a feel good, Christian song which is kind of rare. To just dance and not have to worry about the message behind the music is an amazing feeling. One of the best songs I have heard all year.

4. You'll Come- Hillsong United

Do I really need to explain why Hillsong United is on my list? Lol. They remind me of the Maranatha singers when I was younger that my mom used to play on Saturdays while we did our weekend chores. I love their worship music.

5. Needtobreathe- Hurricane

New love alert: I am becoming a needtobreathe fan. I love their mix of southern and rock. This song is just one of those songs that you love but you don't really have an explanation for it.

6. One Shot- Newsboys

Ok............The new Newsboys will never be the old Newsboys or DC Talk. But if DC Talk and Newsboys would have a baby this would be the offspring. The music is awesome. It makes me think of Tait but edgier.

7. Divine Romance- Phil Wickham

Sigh....This song.......There are no words to explain who beautiful this song is. It's a love song to God; but a truly amazing love song that just makes you want to hold your heart when you hear it.

8. Psalm 13- Shane & Shane

This song is one of the songs that we are praise dancing to. The Psalm is a powerful and awesome one. To be in distressed situation and say that you will continue to wait on the Lord shows so much faith in who God is. I hope that I can convey it in dance later this month.

9. Light Up the Sky- The Afters

New song from The Afters!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! I played it over and over and over again on my phone. I would love to ask the songwriter what made him write the song. It makes me think of One Republic's sound (in a good way).

10. Hands- The Almost

I received a sampler from Tooth and Nail records and this was one of the songs I play every Sunday as I get ready for church. The music, lyrics and feel of the song is awesome. I am definitely interested in getting their album.

11. Never Look Away- The Museum

Also on the Tooth and Nail summer sampler. I love their sound. I am still waiting to hear more from them before I know for sure.

12. Clinging to the Cross- Tim Hughes & Brooke Fraser

It’s such a calm worship song that just speaks volumes in the words. "Simply to the cross I cling/ letting go of all earthly things..." Sometimes you don't need to much music to let the Lord know what you are trying to tell Him.

I am going to try and be consistent with my playlist in the future.

Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- February 2010

I was more in a rock mood lately.....here goes my list:

1. Hearts of Saints- Over and Over
I came across this song via HearItFirst.com. I have to say that I reallylike this song. It has a rock and pop fused mix that makes it catchy. I find myself singingit constantly.

2. Fireflight- For Those Who Wait
This is my song for the year! I play it all the time because it reminds me that I'm not the only one in this situation, going through what I am going through. The wait will be well worth it. The band is totally awesome. I can't wait to get their new CD.

3. Above the Golden State- I Am Loved
You can't go wrong with a feel good song that reminds you that you are loved. ATGS reminds me of the Californian beach bands.

4. Decfyer Down- Crash
I like the song and their sound. They remind me of Breaking Benjamin and Crossfade (an absolutely + in my book). I'm looking to hear more from them in the future.

5. Fireflight- Desperate
Another awesome song by Fireflight.

6. Day of Fire- Lately
Day of Fire is the Christian band I've been dreaming about: awesome voice, lyrics, head-banging songs, etc. I love them!

7. Newworldson- You Set the Rhythm
Newworldson is this awesome band that music sounds like a melting pot of everything good. The song is catchy and an honest confession of how since Jesus came into our hearts He has set the rhythm.

8. Brandon Heath- Love Never Fails
I know this is really cheesy but I would love this song as a first dance song. The song is pretty much 1 Corithinans 13 in a song. I love that its such a beautiful song but it still gets its message across.

9. North Point- It Is Well
Its a cover of the hymn. I love old hyms, they are the true honest statement of our emotions and feelings. The words were changed a little in the cover but the message is the same: through every situation, toil and snare; through the drama, good days, bad days, it is still well with our soul.

10. Needtobreathe- Don't Wait for Daylight
I saw an article about them and downloaded the song. I like their sound but the verdict is still out on the song.

Well, we'll see what next month inspires me to listen to. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- November 2009

I know; I have been horrible with my blogging. I’m so sorry. I have been busy with Bible School (which is sooo much work I’m learning). That being said, here’s my list for November:

1. Relient K- Scene and Herd
I love Relient K! Who doesn’t? I have to have them on my play list. Their song titles are funny but there’s always a message in the bottle. Got to love Relient K!

2. Plumb- Hang On
I fell in love with this group when I first heard the dance version to “Cut”. They have a new album “Beautiful History” out (it is so going on my Christmas List) and I’m extra excited over it. The song is amazing. It tells you that in the midst of it all; hang on and don’t let go. We need to learn how to hang on in the hard times of our lives. We seem to forget sometimes Who we serve and that He can deliver us.

3. Phil Wickham- Coming Alive
He’s a newbie on my play list, even though I have heard a few songs. I like the song; especially the chorus. It says: “now, we’re coming alive/ yeah we’re coming alive/open your hearts, take what’s inside and let go.” That line alone is awesome. I plan to keep my eye on this artist.

4. Terra, Terra, Terra- Paradigm
New band alert! So there’s this band….and they’re called Terra, Terra, Terra…and there are awesome! I am sooo looking forward to hearing more of their music and learning more about them.

5. Rush of Fools- Can’t Get Away
I was trying to track down a particular song and I ended up with this song. It says no matter what we do or how hard we try; we can’t get away. But who would want to? I know I wouldn’t want to get away from Him.

6. Dream Pilots- Comedown
New Band Alert! They come from Norway and I have to say, they sound like they are here to stay. Their song “Comedown” is catchy and was on replay for the better half of my day. Lol. I look forward to hearing more from them.

7. Brooke Fraser- Seeds
I Love Brooke! Lol, really I do. This song poses the question what do we leave for the next generation. It really makes you think. It’s an awesome song; really it is.

8. Bethany Dillon- Reach Out
Where do I begin with Mrs. Bethany? Like Brooke, she is one of my favorite acoustic rock artists. The song “Reach Out” tells the story of the woman with the issue of blood in the New Testament. If we just reach out and come out of our comfort zone we will be able to reach our healing.

9. Coko- He Made A Way
I’m not really into R&B, but this song is so good! The song is a catchy tune that reminds you of a very important thing: “He made a way/He always makes a way.” I love this song.

10. Shekinah Glory Ministry- Bow Down And Worship Him
This is the song for the Children’s church Christmas dance. They girls come in after Jesus was born and they dance before Him. I love this song. It has been one of the easiest and hardest songs I had to choreograph. The title speaks for itself: bow down and worship Him. That’s what we were created to do; and it’s the most humbling experience to be before the Lord of Hosts knowing you are not worthy to be in His presence yet He wants to commune with you. Who are we that He thinks of us? We are so

I hope you guys are touched and blessed by my selection. May you continue the good fight and ENDURE until the end. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- October 2009

Here's my Playlist for October. I actually enjoy doing this because it shows me my mindframe for each month. Enjoy:

1. Bethany Dillon- I Am Yours
I love this song! To hear how much she has grown as a artist is amazing. The song is something that we need to remind ourselves. We are not our own. We were brought with a price and belong to God. In our everyday life we have to show that; we are representatives for the Most High.

2. Ayiesha Woods- Happy
This is a wonderful feel good song. I love it! The Lord makes us happy and we should make sure our lives are in line with His word to bring joy to Him.

3. Damita Haddon- No Looking Back
This is my anthem for my quarterlife. I leave my past in the past. I move forward and there’s no turning back and no looking back. When we start to look forward and stop looking back we move at a quicker pace into the role God has given us. The time we waste looking back and comparing or past mistakes should be spent on looking forward and thanking God for His goodness.

4. Michael Gungor- Wrap Me In Your Arms
I had the pleasure of hearing this song while I was at Elevate for worship. It is such an intimate, beautiful song. To hear it in the acoustic version is even more amazing. To ask the Lord to take you to that secret place where it’s just you and Him; in His arms fellowshipping and worshipping Him is something that you can only ask if you really want to know Him. This song blows my mind every time I hear it.

5. Shane & Shane- Everything is Different
I love Shane & Shane; I fell in love with them when I first heard “Yearn”. They have a new album (one of which I am very excited to get) and this is the first song off their album. Maybe because I am about to enter a new chapter in my life that I am gravitating towards songs that speak of it but I love this song. Everything is different and will be different for me; I speak it and I receive it, lol.

6. Room for Two- Roots Before Branches
Room for Two is a new duo that has been placed in my radar. The song can speak to anyone. You have to have roots and place or something of substance to be rooted or planted into before you can grow and begin to do what you want to do. A lot of people fail to realize that we have to be equipped before we can be called. This song speaks about that situation. Patience is a virtue.

7. Phillip LaRue- Found
Phillip LaRue from the duo LaRue has been recording solo for awhile. This song is another love song (sorry, didn’t mean to like it). I like it because I want to get to that point: that I am so lost in God’s love that I don’t ever want to be found or find my way out. So quickly we taste a bit of God’s goodness than we run the other way. God wants us to know that small taste is just merely the beginning.

8. Britt Nicole- The Lost Get Found
Britt Nicole is quickly becoming one of my favs. That is saying a lot because I am a very picky girl that likes to rock out only. The song is an eye opener. It lets us know that our light isn’t for us but it’s so those who are lost and don’t know the Lord can come to Him. You know the Bible verse: “Let your light shine before men…” Matt. 5:16. We have to show God in us 24/7 because that one time we don’t could be the one time someone is seeking Him.

9. Unfailing Love (Kelly’s Song)- Jimmy Needham
I absolutely melted when I heard this song. It spoke to the romantic in me (the one that swoons when she gets to the part of Captain Wentworth’s letter in Persuasion). It’s such a beautiful love song that not only speaks about the love between two people but the love of God and His plan for the two people. It’s a beautiful and sigh worthy song. You will get dreamy eyes while listening.

10. Switchfoot- Mess of Me
It’s Switchfoot! I don’t have to explain why they are on my favs, lol. Really, I like this song because it’s an honest song. To admit you’re a mess and you can’t fix yourself takes a lot to admit; believe me I know. To top it off Jon Foreman’s voice (insert sigh here, lol) and the amazing band that is Switchfoot= amazing!

My Top 10 Fav Songs- September 2009

My Song List this month has a lot of new faces. I think that it’s because of Elevate. I think that this is it:

1. Ayeisha Woods- Love Like This
I have just discovered Ms. Woods and I absolutely love her! Her R&B sounds and amazing lyrics have put her on my new favs list!

2. Britt Nicole- Set the World On Fire
The song talks about asking the Lord to use her to make such a difference in the world that they world gets set on fire! How awesome is that? To be used by God in such a mighty and awesome why. If God uses me to set one person on fire, I am grateful and truly humble because He saw it fit to use me; but the world? Wow. That is an amazing request.

3. Barlow Girl- I Need You to Love Me
This is an oldie but goodie. I love the honest expression of the song. It makes me think.

4. Israel & New Breed- To Worship You I Live (Away)
An amazing worsip song! I want to praise dance to this asap! It is so beautiful and so true. We were created to seek that closer relationship with God and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

5. Hillsong United- Lead Me to the Cross
OMGosh! I love this song! We sang it at Elevate and it was such an amazing experience. I really love the chorus: "Lead me to the cross, where Your love poured out. Bring me to my knees, Lord I lay me down. Rid me of myself, I belong to You. So lead me, lead me to the cross." Absolutely amazing!

6. JoAnn Rosario- When I Enter Your Rest
I first heard this song at a concert in the acoustic, bilingual version. It was lovely. So after tracking down the song and playing it until I learned every word. It reminds me of a psalm. When we enter His rest; every hurt, pain, sadness disappears. We become strong because we are suroounded by Him.

7. Michael W. Smith- All In The Serve
This song is so old! Lol. It's from a movie that came out awhile ago called "Second Chance". I was so happy when I found this song. It's catchy, uplifting and still speaks to the Lord. Its about having the Lord work on us and in us until what we do is for Him and its only about serving.

8. The Letter Black- Hanging On By A Thread
NEW BAND ALERT! This band is fronted by a lady (love it!), and they are on my "Going to hear more from" list. The band is straight rock, which I happen to love and the led vocals make it even better. The song talks about needing to be saved because they're hanging by a thread. I know I have been there and I definitely can relate.

9. Toby Mac- I’m For You
I love Toby Mac. It's not because he's 1/3 of my favorite band EVER (DC Talk) but because he offers the music that makes your feel good and still uplifts Christ. His music isn't compromised but still gets the message across. This song is tying as my favorite Toby Mac song (Made to Love is my all-time fav); the lyrics, music, etc. is awesome.

10. David Crowder Band- How He Loves
This song is off of the bands new album "Church Music". The song makes me think back to the old worship experience that used to be brought on by the hymns. That music can make me feel like I'm talking straigh from my heart. This song reminds us of how God loves us and How awesome and strong His love is for us.

I hope you guys like my selection. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- August 2009

So I have been listening to a lot of different music this month. My mood changes with each day but I have kept a couple of songs constantly in play. Here they are:

1. Salvador- Now that I Have You

This song is so amazing! I’ve had the album for some time now and I tell you that when I played this song for the first time it ended up on replay all day.

2. Salvador- Shine

I started to play this song when my grandmother passed. She used to love light houses and every time I played this song I think of how she was a light and shined for us. I want to be a light that shines for others as well and this song explains how I feel.

3. Worth Dying For- Take Me

I took my friends iPod for a day and ended up playing this song all the time. It’s an amazing worship song; telling the Lord to take all of you because you want nothing left. It’s a powerful statement and a powerful song.

4. JudaCamp- It’s Alright

I like this song because it’s such a cool dance song. It’s alright to be crazy and dance like David. I am considering it for one of my dance groups. It makes me so excited when I hear it.

5. LaRue- Jaded

This song is very old. I like the concept of the song because it’s very real. They are acknowledging that the person they were with wasn’t for them; and its time to move on and let go.

6. Sanctus Real- Whatever You’re Doing

Love this song! It’s honest. I know how they feel; whatever God is doing inside of us feels horrible but there’s a peace in the midst of it. In the midst of God moving things around and it hurting, He’s still giving me peace.

7. Abandon Kansas- I Wonder If It’s Me

New band alert! I got this song as a free download from Gotee records. Love it! I haven’t found a band that sounds like this in a while. I like them a lot. I hope to add more songs from them in the near future.

8. Francesca Battistelli- It’s Your Life

I like that the concept of this song is the way God talks to us. It’s our life but we have to be mindful people are watching us. When we say we are Christians we are automatically thrown into a spotlight under a magnifying glass. We have to make sure our lifestyle echoes what we believe.

9. Flyleaf- All Around Me

I am surprised I didn’t add this song sooner. I love the way she sings (Christian Rock music is getting better). You have to hear this song if you haven’t already.

10. Fireflight- Brand New Day

I feel in love with this band when I first heard “Unbreakable”. After I got their album, I was hooked. It is an amazing song. We have to remember each day is a chance to start anew, to make a step towards or away from the life God has for us. We need to stop living in the past and live in Jesus.

I hope you guys liked this month’s selection. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- July 2009

Sorry I posted the list late! I have been so busy! Well with the wedding on my mind non stop of course I will have A LOT of dance music on here. Here we go:

1. Wave Your Banner- Kierra “KiKi” Sheard
This is the song we walked into during the ceremony. I heard it once and was hooked.

2. Lose it All- Rush of Fools
I love this song! After all the stress I’ve been through, it still feels good to say that I want to lose it all for the Lord.

3. Shake It- Canton Jones
It’s the remake of the Hokey Pokey. I like it to dance to, it’s a cute song.

4. Leeland- Beautiful Lord
Now, I have to have Leeland on my play list. This song is so amazing! It is a beautiful love song to the Lord. To know that in the midst of everything He is there is a feeling that beats all others.

5. Lifehouse- Broken
I am being a total drama queen with this song. But in the midst of the drama, I could relate to this song. Plus it’s Lifehouse; you got to love Lifehouse.

6. Kirk Franklin feat. Toby Mac- I Am God
This song was playing every morning as I got dressed for work. I love the whole concept of being still and letting God be God. How many of us actually do it these days? This song spoke to me a lot.

7. Kierra “KiKi” Sheard- Love Like Crazy
I like this song; it’s a love song about God. I love how it sounds. I replay it all the time I’m in my cousin’s car. It’s a funky song.

8. Delirious?- Everything
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t listen to my rock worship music, lol. This song is the song that just makes you realize where you stand in your relationship with Christ. You say that the Lord is everything, and truly mean it should show in your lifestyle. I love this band and this song though its old is amazing!

9. B.Reith- Mess
I love this song! I have been humming it all day today. It’s everybody’s song. We are in a mess and we need the only One who can get us out of it. It takes a lot to admit you’re dependent on someone. But to be dependent on God is the best support system ever.

10. Denver & The Mile High Orchestra- Good to Go
I’ve had this album for awhile but I just started to listen to it again recently. I love swing music! It’s the instruments, I am an instrument girl (guitars, drums, trumpets, violins); I love this song because it’s a feel good song but it still uplifts God. And there’s nothing wrong with having a good time and still giving God the praise.

I hope you liked my selection for July, I wonder what will inspire my song selection for August. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- June 2009

Here we go; a couple of newbie’s made the list:

1. Danyew- Streetlights
Can I say I absolutely love him and it was right after I heard the song? I downloaded the song and never really had a chance to listen to it and then it played….the rest is history. It feels so good to listen to good music that also exalts the Lord.

2. Francesca Battistelli- Free To Be Me
I found this song on one of my Youth member’s iPod. I loved it, I like the fact that she is saying because He died, and she is free to be who she is. In Christ there is liberty and nothing beats Christ.

3. Grey Holiday- You Belong to Me
I personally like this song. This song speaks to the Prodigal Son in all of us. We run from God and He’s just patiently waiting for us to come back home. I am so upset that they disbanded. Argh!

4. Stacie Orrico- I Could Be the One
This is an oldie but goody! I was playing her album in my room and kept playing this song over and over. In this song she is saying that she could be the one that God uses; she isn’t thinking that she’s nothing. If God can use a donkey he can definitely use us.

5. DC Talk- Godsend
The first Christian love song I fell in love with. To call someone your Godsend, the person God especially sent apart for you sounds so much better then a soul mate. I remember the first time I heard this song I literally put my hand on my heart and started to swoon, lol. I love this song.

6. Audio Adrenaline- Ocean Floor
This song is definitely one of those songs that make you want to cry. This song talks about how our sins, wrong doings etc. are forgiven and at the bottom of the ocean floor. I am so happy for Grace. God is so good!

7. Point of Grace- How You Live (Turn Up the Music)
I used to play this song when my grandmother first past. She was a beautiful and amazing woman. It’s been a year this month, but it still feels like yesterday. The song tells you to live each day to the fullest because it doesn’t matter who your friends were but how you lived your life.

8. Bethany Dillon- Holy Is the Lord
I love worship songs by other genres. This song is so beautiful! Our Lord is so amazing and He requires so much from us but no matter what He is still holy.

9. Jennifer Knapp- Say Won’t You Say
This is another oldie. I will always like this song; it has the ability to always stick in my head.

10. The Elms- Hey, Hey
This was the first Elms song I ever heard. I was on the WOW mix. I wanted to know more about them because I liked their style, and I still do.

I hope you liked my selection. Next month will have a lot of new artists.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- May 2009

So this time I am actually going to list just 10. It will be difficult, but I think I can do it.

1. Let Go- Grey Holiday
I found Grey Holiday when I looked up their song from the Fireproof soundtrack. I think this song is so cool! It’s talking about asking God to give you the strength to let go of whatever, whoever, etc. We all have things we need to let go of but they admit it’s not easy in this song and they are asking for help.

2. Back to Indiana- The Elms
This song is so cool! I am on The Elms mailing list and downloaded this song as soon as I got to the email. It’s the classic formula that I love about them: old school rock! Can’t beat that.

3. Cartoons- Chris Rice
This song is sooo hilarious! I started listening to it because I wanted a song for the children in Children’s Church to sing it or listen to it. The concept is cute: how would the cartoon characters praise the Lord?

4. Yearn- Shane & Shane feat. Bethany Dillon
Let me tell you about this song. I was at this point where I wanted, no needed more but I didn’t know exactly how to express it. I was listening to Bethany Dillon on Youtube and I came across the live version with her singing the song. I played it over and over again. I want to get to that point where I yearn, burn, desire, and crave only the Lord.

5. Everything is Beautiful- Starfield
This song is cool. I used to listen to it occasionally on my cousins iPod and decided I should download the song for myself. I love it!

6. Thief- Brooke Fraser
I am honestly trying not to be a sickening romantic but I absolutely love this song. I am going to admit that I love Brooke Fraser Ligertwood’s songwriting but this song is so beautiful. It’s about the guy being the thief and breaking into her heart…..sigh.

7. I’ll Love You So- Above the Golden State
Now I am so surprised why I didn’t add this song before. I love this band! They remind me of The Beach Boys but updated, hotter and better yet: Christian. The song is saying that he will continue to love Him.

8. I’m Letting Go- Francesca Battistelli
She’s a new artist on my radar. I love her deep scratchy like voices. The song is what I needed to hear as I made the change into my new room. It is about letting go and letting God. I feel we don’t do it enough.

9. Open Skies- David Crowder Band
This song is rather old but it makes me feel so good whenever I hear it. I love this band; they make the worship experience an awesome one. I would love to go to one of their concerts.

10. Undo- Rush of Fools
This song is an honest expression of someone who realizes they are nothing without Jesus love and grace. We have to ask God everyday to constantly undo us and let Him work in our lives instead.

Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- April 2009

Now with all my talk of Brooke Fraser, you know she will have at least 5 songs on my list, lol. But I love to share what I call my life soundtrack; it you a better idea of what I have been thinking and mediating on during the month.

1. Albertine, Shadowfeet, Love Is Waiting, Lifeline, Honest- Brooke Fraser
Albertine- is a story about Rwanda; it is such a moving song and makes you want to make a difference in the world.
Shadowfeet- is about staying in Jesus in the midst of it all. I listened to this song practically 3 times a day! I love that confidence in knowing that no matter what we are standing on the firm foundation that is Christ Jesus.
Love Is Waiting- This song is an encouraging song for me because it tells you not to rush love; its waiting on you for the perfect time and season. It will be amazing and worth the wait.
Lifeline- I was at a point when I was feeling the tug of separation between me and the Lord. I felt like I was unintentionally drifting away. The song made me evaluate where I stood.

2. Hosanna- Hillsong United
This song is an amazing worship song. I love it! It just makes me want to close my eyes and sing (off-key) out loud! Lol. It’s a plus that Brooke Fraser wrote the lyrics.

3. Invisible- Kierra KiKi Sheard
I like this song because it speaks about humbling yourself and letting the Lord shine through to be the star of the show. It’s not about us; but about Jesus.

4. Learning to Breath- Switchfoot
Do I seriously need to say why I love this song? It’s Switchfoot for one, and second the song has been a fav of mine for years. Its about learning how to do everything with Jesus; we are so used to it being about us but when you accept Him you have to learn how to do it all from scratch.

5. While I’m Waiting- John Waller
So I haven’t seen Fire Proof yet, but this song is AMAZING! How many of us can say while we are waiting on God we are still working, giving our all to Him? It’s an honest song; in the hard times, when we are happy or sad; we will still keep waiting on Him to reach that next level.

6. My Day- Canton Jones
I love this song! It’s like a declaration song to me. My favorite verse says: “I will not wait for anything to happen, I will take an action”. How cool is that!

7. On the Way- Elizabeth Hunnicutt
I found out about this artist from a fellow blogger http://thescottishwisdom.blogspot.com (The Scottish Wisdom). She has this folk/acoustic rock feel to her but she sounds like a young Twila Paris. The song talks about along the way (the walk in Christ) we are learning, we are taking each step, discovering ourselves along the way.

8. Rock What You Got- Superchick
Superchick Rocks! This song is a great feel good song that helps me become more energized on those days when I don’t want to get out of bed. It’s telling you to be yourself, and don’t change for anyone.

9. Give Me Your Eyes- Brandon Heath
This song is so cool. I love that it calls for us to be aware of others. If we had God’s eyes what would we see that we normally wouldn’t pay attention to?

10. Never Going Back to OK- The Afters
I got my cousin addicted to this song! It’s a feel good declaration song! We are never going back to OK; we are new, changed and everything will never be the same.

I hope you like the selection. Be blessed.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- March 2009

Lately there have been some songs constantly on my replay list. Some are old, while some are fairly new. Here they go:

1. Beautiful Love- The Afters
I am a sap for this song. I have never heard a Christian love song that makes me want to play it over and over without feeling mushy. Everytime I hear it, it brings a smile to my face.

2. Miracle- The Elms
This song reminds me of the old school rock music that makes you want to go to their concert with and get the band tees. The song is such a simple concept that speaks volumes.

3. Decode- Paramore
Don't really need a reason for why they're on my playlist. It's Paramore, I love this band! The song makes me think over my past relationship every time I hear it but the song overall is hot. It's also on the Twilight Soundtrack (personally picked by Stephenie Moore).

4. I Need You- Jars of Clay
If you NEVER heard this song before, you need to! I absolutely love it! It's so catchy and it's a declaration that we need Jesus as our Lord and Savior in our life.

5. All I Need (Acoustic)- Bethany Dillon
This song is amazing. I can't really find the words to describe it. The song says everything we need to say to the Lord; in the midst of everything, when we are alone, He's all we need.

6. Say the Words (Now)- DC Talk
If a DC Talk song wasn't on my list, I would be shocked. The band is aweome! This song is aweome! It could just be my opinion because I am a die-hard DC Talk fan! They need to do a reunion tour ASAP! The song talks about saying "I love you" when you need to say it.

7. In Such A State- Edison Glass
They're one of the new bands I just discovered. They sound like Christian Power Rock. This song is another one of those songs that just express where we are and where we need Him to be: in our hearts.

8. Opposite Way- Leeland
Leeland is one of my favorite worship bands. They actually minister to you in song. They have a way of making you want to go into worship when listening to them. This song makes you feel empowered about being set apart, for going in the opposite direction then the world.

9. Something to Say- Matthew West
This is one of the coolest songs I have heard in a long time. It makes me think of "Live Out Loud" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Everytime I hear this song I feel like climbing to the top of a roof to scream something; anything.

10. Alive- P.O.D.
This is a personal song for me. After I survived a traumatic experience, this became my theme song. You don't realize how alive you feel until something happens and puts everything into perspective.

Let's see what will be my soundtrack for next month.
