I Always Love A Good Book, Don't You?

I am counting down the days until my favorite writers release their new books. I am a huge fan of Christian Chick-Lit but I am afraid I own all the books already! So I decided to list my must-have books that I am counting on. Hopefully the Publishing companies will release them sooner (fingers crossed, lol). No particular order:
* Book Three in the Sydney Alexander Series- Christa Ann Banister I am not going to explain myself. You need to read Around the World in 80 Dates and Blessed Are the Meddlers to understand why I want to know what will happen next. Can you say "drama"? It leaves so much open that I am anxious to know more.
* Cool Beans (Maya Davis Series)- Erynn Mangum I love the Lauren Holbrook Series (Miss Match, Rematch, and Match Point). I love that I can relate to her main character and the story plot kept you reading and rereading (you don't want to see my books, ear marks everywhere!). I am excited to read about this new character and be introduced into her world.
* Piece de Resistance- Sandra Byrd I love French and I love Chick lit; so put them together and add a awesome plot and you have yourself an addicted reader. I am so anxious to see how this story with Lexi will end (read Let Them Eat Cake and Bon Appetit to find out the cool story).
* Sunset Beach- Trish Perry I am not sure if this is part of the other books (The Guy I'm Not Dating, Too Good to be True, Beach Dreams) but I love how she tells a story and keeps you interested until the very end. A lot of writers can't do that and she does it very well. So until these writers deliver, I will be reading and re-reading my favorite books. I need to add to my collection; I haven't bought any new books in a while.

I Want to See A Good Movie

Lately it seems there's nothing good out. I have not bought a new DVD in ages and haven't been to the movies in a while as well. It seems no one wants to be properly entertained anymore. They just want sex, blood and gore and they are set. What ever happened to a feel good movie with an amazing wardrobe? (lol, seriously). They don't exist anymore, ad the movies that are half way decent are laced with sexual innuendo. Am I the only one that feels like that?

Enough With the Gushy Stuff!

Ok, I am done with all the gushy stuff. I think I might go into a coma from all this sugar. My cousin and his fiancée have grossed me out, my best friend and her fiancé as well are doing it to me as well. I am trying to deal with this in very, very, very small doses. If they continue, I won't be able to enjoy my Jane Austen! Gasp! I totally take that back, Jane Austen will always be enjoyable. I can't believe I just said that. I'm groggy, maybe some coffee and a chocolate donut would make me feel better, lol.

I'm Having A Sigh Moment

So I have this routine every Sunday morning: I get up, get my outfit out, shower, watch Joel Osteen......and watch Persuasion (2007 version). I know, where does that fit in? It doesn't. It's just a calm show to have on with all the junk on TV these days especially on Sundays. But, I love the part when Captain Wentworth writes the letter to Anne and she runs to find him.....that's where the sigh comes in. His letter is amazing! "....You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. ....I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan.....I can hardly write... I must go, uncertain of my fate.... A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father's house this evening or never." Do you see what I mean? ..Sigh... I will always love this letter.....sigh... I am done now, lol.

Global Warming? Are You Completely Sure?

So it's "supposedly" Spring but I don't have to tell you the weather didn't get the memo. Isn't it supposed to be extremely hot to the point that I might pass out? Where are the heat waves? The blackouts because its so hot everyone is using their AC? I am at a loss. It's raining and if I didn't read the Bible and knew of God's promise I would be convinced it is going to rain for 40 days and 40 nights. Lol. I think its Global Cooling. Have you seen the Day After Tomorrow? Something to think about if you have and if you haven't; you need to rent it and get your winter clothes ready, lol.

I Gotta Get Through This

Don't ask. Lol, well you can ask. I will tell you without making it painfully obvious. I have an "appreciation" (like how I phrased that) for a friend of mine. The problem is that we go to different churches and I don't get to see him as much as I would like. What makes it worst is that he has a lot of other people who "appreciate" him as well and they are very vocal about it. I am very old fashion about this topic. I am all for the "He that findeth a wife" angle; meaning that he has to come after me, not vice versa. I like that he has to "woo" me and pursue me, why should I run after him? But I digress.....the thing that drives me nuts is that I have asking God to remove these feelings if they aren't from Him because I need NO MORE distractions at all; but they are still here. So where does that leave me?

You Give Me Something.....

If you haven't noticed a lot of my blog entries are titles to songs. I grew up in a family where music was always around us. My mother raised me on Contemporary Christian (Point of Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, etc, etc, etc) and Classical Music. As I got older, I branched out into Christian Rap (didn't last long), and ended up in the genre that I love now: Christian Rock & Worship. I also look at my past relationships and I noticed something as well: each relationship I was introduced to a genre or an artist. I remember one of my friends introduced me to James Morrison and Marie Digby (he wasn't Christian, lol). I fell in love with the song "You Give Me Something". I remember just listening to the song and identifying with that feeling. I love when that happens with Worship music. When you hear a song for the first time and you know exactly how they feel and what they are talking about. Like Lincoln Brewster "Lord I'm Amazed"; that song just puts chills through me. To know that its not just you that find the things that the Lord does that are amazing makes you realize how powerful and awesome He is.....sigh.... it's late, time for bed. Be blessed.
