I Hate McDonalds Now!

This video is a-mazing.

"I like playing in the damn playpen in McDonalds!"

"I can make my own damn soda, you know that right? Sugar, water Kool-Aid, bitch!"

Happy 30th to da MISTER!

That's right.  My old man is now, well old.  Da mister turns 30 TODAY!  And what are we doing to celebrate?  Nothing.  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.  Why?  Well, cause the mister doesn't like to be fussed over except when he's sick even though he says he doesn't.  We actually are doing a little something this weekend but only because it's something he actually enjoys and I threw in "we'll celebrate your birfday too" and he went along with it.  But besides that, do NOT fuss over this boy.  He doesn't like it.  However, I've made it VERY CLEAR that just because he feels this way does NOT mean his little ole' wife feels the same.  Fuss fuss FUSS away when it's time for me to climb the proverbial (definately had to google that word because I almost spelled it perverbial, as in with the word PERVE in it) 30 hill.  In fact, throw a parade and bring me a tiara and a sash that says "It's her 30th, tell her she's fawbulous."  Okay, maybe that last part wouldn't fit on a sash, but you catch my notsosubtle drift.  But the mister?  None of that for the mister.  But guess what, this is MY blog and the one place I can do WHATEVER (as long as it's legal of course) I like and what would I like?  To fuss over the mister!  So here is a picture tribute (and those of you that have been long time followers, yes these are the same pictures I used on his birfday last year for a few reasons, 1 - I haven't had time to scan new ones and 2 - I don't have access to a scanner even if I did have time) to my mister on his 30th ...

Um, did you check out all the baby pics of the mister in places he shouldn't be or doing things he shouldn't be doing?  Is this what I have coming to me in a few months?  Sugar, it's time to start baby proofing the house.  Also, is it illegal wrong for me to think the mister's 17-year-old-soccer-playing-self was hot?  Maybe a little bit?  Okay, moving right along.

I love that the pictures come full circle, the mister as a baby to him holding his own sweet baby boy.  Happy birfday sugar.  I love everything about you, from the way you encourage me and our son, the way you take care of us in every way possible, the way you work so hard to provide for us and the way you lead us spiritually.  You are my best friend, the love of my life and my soulmate.  I love the husband you have and are being and the father you are becoming.  I can't wait to celebrate 30 MORE birfdays with you.

HAPPY 30TH SUGAR!!!

RIP: Elizabeth Taylor

 It is about to be an end of an error (Lauren Bacall is not going out without a fight, lol). I remember the first movie I saw Elizabeth Taylor in: Little Women. She played Amy just the way I thought she would. My favorite movie of hers has to be Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, it was an amazing movie and loveeeeeeeedddd the wardrobe. Ms. Taylor, you have forever ruined us; your place cannot not be filled. RIP.

What I'm Loving ...

How to Get to My Heart

"A woman's heart should be so close to God that a man should have to chase Him to find her."

C.S. Lewis

Vegas Day Five

Yes, we are the only people that stay in Vegas longer than 4 days.

I awoke to hear the people in the room next to us having sex again. Seriously, I was starting to get jealous. We got up, packed up, and took our luggage downstairs to store for the day before we had to head to the airport.

There were a few things we had wanted to do in Vegas, but hadn't yet, so we figured we better get around to it. My girlfriend had her heart SET on going on the gondola ride at the Ventian so we figured why not. The thing is there are two sets, an indoor and an outdoor ride, and they aren't connected. We set out to get some info about them, and it wasn't as easy as you'd think. We waited in the inside line, only to be told that we had to buy our tickets elsewhere, so we went to the place to buy tickets and got some more info. The outside ride is about a minute less than the inside ride, but it was gorgeous out so we decided on that one and had to head back outside. The ride was kind of fun, even though it lasted only about 6-7 minutes I think? The gondola guy was super nice and he sang to us in Italian (hot.) He also was telling us that about once a month someone falls into the water there. Vegas crazies I tell ya!

Nothing makes me hungrier than boating in 6-inch water so we decided to grab a cab to In-N-Out Burger. It was all our our first times and we'd heard amazing things. The burger was in fact pretty delicious, but the fries weren't great. Kind of a weird texture, like those popcorn twists that melt in your mouth. Mickey D's still definitely has the best fries on record.

After that we sorta wandered the strip until it was time to go home. I remember for some reason standing in front of the fountain at the Bellagio for about a half hour. Oh yeah, I think my friend wanted picutres (even though I'm sure she had taken a hundred already) and we got there JUST too late for the previous show.

As we were meandering along I do remember a guy hitting on me... and calling me "Sugarbum." Best nickname ever! Honestly, I will answer to Sugarbum from now on.

At the airport I ate a Cinnabon and it was the most delicious thing ever. Why did they ever take them out of the Abby/Langley malls? Oh yeah, for the sake of my Sugarbum :)

On the plane I was the hit of the party. I don't even remember how it happened but I ended up telling the couple behind to to stop it with the PDA (they weren't even making out,) and the husband was totally joking around with me while the wife was looking embarassed. Also there was this semi-cute Asian guy behind me who I was chatting with and turned out to be a DJ from Vancouver. He kept telling how awesome he was... and then at the end when I was like "So what are you, DJ Awesome?" um yeah he was. DJ Johnny Awesome to be specific.

Oh yeah, and remember the guy I met in the pool that was on our same flight? When my friend got up to go to the bathroom he came and sat beside me... And asked me to join the Mile High Club with him again. I laughed and said no. He replied with "Why wouldn't you?" and kept asking me why not. Um... I don't know you, you probably have herpes, the bathrooms are yucky, and not to mention tiny. Shall I go on? He returned to his seat. (Oh but he did text me later that night and say he had nowhere to stay so could he stay at my house? I told him to ask my Dad.)

We touched down, grabbed our luggage and headed home. (With a quick stop at the duty free for some Grey Goose... so cheap!)

All in all it was a very successful ladies trip. I can't wait to go back!

Catching Up ...

Morning all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We sure did.  I love the weekends because Koda, C & I get his daddy ALL to ourselves.  We've started a little tradition on Saturdays of taking a long walk together which is great because it gets C some Vitamin D and his mommy some COLOR on these flourescent, chubby arms!

I realized that I forgot to post pictures when my good friend Ginny was in town visiting from Taiwan!  She freaked us out a bit due to the fact that she landed here in Dallas the DAY AFTER the earthquake hit Japan.  In fact, she caught a connecting flight the day before (I'm probably messing up the days a bit, it's always tomorrow there and it really messes me up figuring out what day she's in ...) in Japan to come to Texas.  Talk about timing!  Thank GOODNESS that was the day her mom had off work to be able to pick her up from the airport ... sheesh.  We met for dinner and had some Tex-Mex (who WOULDN'T crave it when you've not had it in almost a year?) and basically enjoyed catching up.  A few days later she came over to meet C but of COURSE I forgot to take pictures.  Mommy brain.  Dangit.  But I DID take some pictures at dinner.  Well, one picture.

Gin went back yesterday, C & I miss her already.  But we're HOPEFUL she'll be back again sometime this year and maybe that time I'll remember to take pictures!

On Friday C & I went to the park with my friends Alysia and Lori and their darling kiddos.  In keeping with tradition, I didn't take any pictures of the kiddos (fail) but I did snap one of C & I on our way TO the park (win!)

And last but not least, last night we celebrated my brother Clay's (member his birfday post last week?) 27th birfday last night at my parent's house.  We had good food, lots of fun and C was one spoiled little man (until he went to bed an hour after we got there in the pack and play that his Mama has at her house) It was fun had all around ...

{Mama (my mom) lovin' on her grandbaby boy}

{My Silly, brother, C, the Mister & me in a flowy shirt that makes me look preggers.}

{My little sister had some silly glasses.  I got a hold of them.  Enough said.}

{My Silly got a hold of the other pair.  Our nickname for each other is Silly.  Enough said.}

{My brother has an unhealthy love of cookie cake.  And we all went to Baylor.  Sic 'em cookie cake.}

{Make a wish!  "I wish for more cookie cake ..."}

{My cousin and his wife Joanna were in town visiting.  We miss you two and your sweet baby girls!}

Looking at these pictures is making me realize my hair's too dark.  We'll be remedy'ing that in a few weeks ...

Happy Monday y'all!  I'm excited because THE MISTER TURNS 30 THIS WEEK!
