And Isn't it Ironic - Don't you think?

I see this cute boy at the dog park all the time.  We smile.  We chat.  We flirt.

Today cute guy came with a cute girl.

Boo.

Could it be a sister or a cousin?

Sure.

But doubtful.

Very doubtful.

I'm hoping someday soon life will help me out in the romance department.

Mine has been the curse of the 'best friend' and/or favorite mountain biking/hiking buddy.

Lol!

I have a co-worker that has a smoking problem. It's bad enough that he smokes but he takes cigarette breaks every hour on the hour. I have never seen it this bad before. And to top it all off, he likes to talk right after he comes back from break and make you suffer from second-hand smoking. I promise you I could not make it up. Does anyone have co-workers like that? My job is just a bunch of characters. They all have a crazy back-story. I think life would be boring without a back story would be a bore.

Some People Aren't Meant for Main Roles

Another month begins and I find myself in the same place: wondering what would be my next move; who will be entering my life and who will be leaving it. I remember when I first realized that I was holding onto people who weren’t meant to be part of my life anymore. I looked at it liked this: I was giving lead roles to supporting actors and extras. Makes you think about things differently right? If we really evaluated the relationships in our lives and asked God for His direction with each one, I assure you that there would be at least one person that would need to go. That being said, I am in that position myself. I have people in my life that are on their way out and I wouldn’t have been able to part from them if it wasn’t for the Lord who strengthened me and encouraged me. It won’t be easy, but it will be so worth it down the line.

Life's Too Short!

When I find myself stressing the unimportant little things, I just take a deep breath and remind myself that life is too short! I should be doing more for others than for myself. I always remember that Ministry means to serve others; it's a service that we provide to help others spiritually. Our Young Women's Ministry is starting a can food drive and suggested in the winter we volunteer at a soup kitchen. I remember when we went into a nursing home; there were people there who were so alone and our company blessed them. I made me feel good that I could pray for someone who needed it and they felt blessed. When you look at the people who have nothing and no one, you appreciate everything more.

The Only We Have to Fear is Fear Itself

I totally disagree with that statement. Hear me out. As Christians, we shouldn't fear anything or anyone but the Lord. And the fear that we have towards Him is a respect and admiration of who He is and what He can do. I only thought about that quote today because my cousin came to me with a business proposal for my gown line. I love making gowns and everyone thinks I am very talented. I also have a weird obsession with fabrics (lol), but I think the thing that scares me the most is failing. I think I am slowing myself down with stupid questions like: "am I good enough? Would I be creative enough to make it past 5 years?" Blah, blah, blah. I know that this is a stepping stone. If I fail, I fail; but at least I can say I tried. So now I am going to try. I also know that there's life and death in my tongue. So I speak life, creativity, business savy, success, Godly direction into my business. Now, I'm ready to go.

Saturdays & Jane Austen

I had a wonderful morning. I watched Persuasion (the Sally Hawkins & Rupert Penry Jones version) and Pride & Prejudice (the Keira Knightley & Matthew MacFadyen version) as a marathon. One after the other. One word: AMAZING! I am a total Jane Austen groupie. I had choir rehearsal this evening; we learned a new song which I can't remember (lol). Tonight was the Youth dinner. It was wonderful. The youth of the church were the servers and everything was served via candle light. It was such a nice night to be surrounded by fellow saints in Christ. It made me realized that we should do things like on a regular basis. Being Christians doesn't mean that we have to be boring. We get to live knowing that we received the most wonderful gift ever: eternal life! Everyday for me feels like a celebration; a day to enjoy the life that has been given to me. Why shouldn't we? Anyone care to join me?
