What I'm Listening To: Carolina Liar- Show Me What I'm Looking For

It's been awhile; I know. I have been in the Poconos this past weekend with an amazing set of people (I'll talk about it more in the next post), but I want to share this song and band with you guys. I was on Pandora (God bless the person(s) who thought this up) and came across this band called Carolina Liar. As soon as the first verse and chorus played, I was seriously hooked. The song is called "Show Me What I'm Looking For". I can't begin to explain how this song was speaking to my situation at that very moment. The funny things is the band isn't a "Christian band" but the lyrics speak volumes. I posted the first and second verse as well as the chorus below:

"Wait, I'm wrong
Should have done better than this
Please, I'll be strong
I'm finding it hard to resist
So show me what I'm looking for

Save me, I'm lost
Oh Lord, I've been waiting for you
I'll pay any cost
Save me from being confused
Show me what I'm looking for
Show me what I'm looking for…oh Lord

Don't let go
I've wanted this far too long
Mistakes become regrets
I've learned to love abuse
Please show me what I'm looking for"

I know.....awesome. I hope if not the song doesn't encourage someone that the words will. Be blessed.

Dirty Thirties.

This year is the year that most of my friends (and myself) are all turning 30.  This, of course, makes for a great excuse to act like you're turning 21 again have a FUN night out!  One of my best friends and roommate from Baylor turned 30 on Friday.  She and her mister live in Waco and he arranged a weekend in Dallas to celebrate with all her friends.  Kim is from California and her best friend since high school (and another one of my best friends from Baylor as well) led Kim to believe that she wouldn't be able to be here for her 30th.  Unbeknowst to Kim, I was picking Megan up from the airport on Friday and surprising her in Kim's hotel room when she arrived.  C was such a good sport and rode around with two crazy girls all day while we lunched, shopped, picked up decorating supplies and set everything up in the hotel room.  We decided the best idea was to hide on the balcony when Kim and Brady got to the room and then Brady would lead Kim out onto the balcony where we'd suprise her.  Now, up until this point C had been a champ.  Eating on the go, having his diapers changed in the backseat of my car, being shuffled in and out of his carseat, the whole nine yards.  But of course, the MINUTE we go outside and actually NEED to be quiet, the little man turns into a fussy pants.  And won't stop no matter what tricks I try.  So Kim and Brady come in the room and hear crying coming from the balcony so Brady leads Kim there as quick as he can.  As soon as Kim comes out she immediately sees me to her right along with C and is super excited and surprised.  I then pointed across from me, to Kim's left and as soon as she saw Megs she went balistic.  It was the cutest, most adorable surprise I've ever been a part of.  Of course I didn't get a picture of that BUT I sure did get some of our Friday night out.  I have to give the Mister some quick props because he totally took baby duty and let me and my MOH stay and take a cab home so we could stay out with our friends we never see longer.  I came home to a happy, sleeping baby.  Thanks sugar, you are the BEST

It was SUCH a fun night.  All I have to say is, I MISS YOU GIRLS!!!  Happy dirty thirty Kim!!!

Vegas Day Two

After a nice sleep-in we woke around noon (I haven't slept that late since I was a teenager) and decided to head down to the pool. Well, those of us that weren't trying not to toss our cookies went. Brit guy's friends had all left that morning to he came and joined us for a while.

The pool at Planet Hollywood is sort of disappointing. The pool patio area is enormous, but there are only 2 small pools, and the vast majority of chairs around them are cabanas or misting chairs that you have to pay for. It was hard to find a few loungers all together. You had to be ready to pounce when anyone left. It made me miss the lazy river from MJM where I'd stayed last time.

That night one friend and I headed to see The Beatles - Love Cirque de Soliel show. (The other girls were going to see "O" later in the week.) We were in the 4th row and it was fantastic. At one point this huge sheet comes across the audience and covers you. Underneath it the guy with a teapot waved at us. We giggled like schoolgirls. We thought it covered the whole audience but apparently it was only the first couple rows. I've seen a couple Cirque's but I really liked knowing the words to the music. It was funny too, that when the show ended and the cast was walking around the stage waving and bowing that we kept getting checked out by the boys.

We left the show and our other friends met us at BLT Burger for some din-din. The burger I had was only ok, but my friend had the Veggie Falafal burger which was amazing. The best part were the boozy milkshakes though. We had the "Night Rider" which had Kahlua, chocolate liquer, Oreos and chocolate ice cream. It may have been the tastiest thing I've ever put in my mouth.

That night we headed down the strip and gambled for a bit at the Flamingo. It was kinda cool because right beside my Three Card Poker table was a stage where girls were dancing in some awesome pink lingerie. Gotta get me some of that! (The lingerie, not the girls.) At the table I was sitting beside a guy from Wisonsin who kept slamming Vancouver. He was all: "Ooh do they finally have running water up there?" Hello buddy, Vancouver is one of the prettiest places on earth and you live in WISCONSIN. Friggin' Cheesehead!

Vegas Baby! Day One

In September I took a trip with 3 of my girlfriends to Las Vegas. It was in one word, epic.

Day one: Arrival in Vegas around 3:00. We checked in at Planet Hollywood and headed upstairs to take a look. We were in the Beetlejuice themed room, bloody arm in the coffee table and all. We had a nice view of the pool area with the Bellagio fountain in the distance. The bathroom was the best... It was enormous, with a mirror and sink on both sides. Enough room for 4 girls to share with no fights. And that's saying something.

We headed downstairs to wander around. It took us probably 2 hours to even leave our hotel. First stop was boozy slushies. My two girlfriends got one of those guitars to share and it took them a half hour of not getting anything through the straw until they finally took my advice that the straw had a hole in it and went to get a new one. They weren't even drunk yet, just that slow.

For dinner we ate at this southern place in the hotel. The main reason was because I saw that they had Dorito-crusted mac and cheese. Then I saw that they had deep-fried pickles on the menu, which I'd been DYING to try. They're actually pretty good. They've got the dill flavour, but a fun crunchiness.

That night we headed to Koi Lounge, the club in our hotel. We had gotten tickets that for $20 allowed us to skip the line/cover and drink for free all night. HELLO! The bar was kind of empty, but picking up when the hostess asked us if we wanted to go "entertain" some guys in the VIP section. Well, why not? They turned out to be from Alberta and owned an oil company. Goodbye crappy vodka, hello Grey Goose and Red Bull! We even had a girl to pour our drinks for us. Two of my friends seemed to be getting along nicely with two of the boys. I told one that she should make out with him, to hear her answer "I already did!" Atta girl! Our other friend, the only non-single lady, wasn't DTF, she was DTMF (down to make friends.)

Around this point we'd decided to leave the club to go see some strippers. I was gathering everyone together and we were almost at the door when my one girlfriend literally RAN away from me with her guy. I chased her out the door yelling for her to wait and like a stubborn two-year-old she grinned at me and ran in the opposite direction.

At this point two guys ran upto me, grabbed my hand and convinced me to stay. I thought they worked at the club, but it turned out they were from England here visiting. My remaining friends and I were talking to them for a few minutes and the guy from Alberta who my friend had kissed got all jealous. Seriously buddy? I wasn't about to go see the strippers with Sir-Rage-Alot so we stayed at the club.

My two friends left to grab some pizza and I stayed to talk to one of the British guys. Half black, super tall, cute accent. In my drunken stupor we were having some seriously deep conversations... religion, politics... all the things you aren't supposed to talk about. Around 3am I let him walk my back to my room. I was surprised that no-one was back yet.

I made out with him for a few minutes on the bed when the door opened and my friend who'd taken off to the stripclub appeared with her man. She'd had a great time, considering she'd been asked to stop touching the strippers while getting a lap dance. Since the main room was "taken" they headed into the bathroom. Brit guy and I had no idea what was going on, but we could hear talking, banging around and stuff hitting the floor. (It turned out it wasn't as exciting as it sounded through the door.) To further the experience we started to hear moaning through the wall from the couple next door. (Which was on and off for 2 days.)

My friends showed up from having pizza, the boys left and we headed to bed. Normally this would be where the story ended for the night, except my one friend was so drunk that she slept-walked out the door and got locked out. We were so passed out that no-one woke up to her pounding on the door so she had to go downstairs in her tank top and booty shorts, where they escorted her back upstairs and she was finally let in.

To sum it up, everybody got Vegas kissy-face except my friend with a boyfriend = good night :)

Fun Ideas ...

When C was born one of my mom's best friends bought a year subscription to Disney's Family Fun magazine.

The PERFECT gift for this Disney-lovin' momma!  Although a lot of the ideas in the magazine are for older kiddos, don't you think I won't be saving every one for future fun crafty things to do with little man when he's old enough.

For example, I definately see this one coming into play in my future ...

And if we have a little girl, I JUST MAY use this idea to decorate her nursery ...

And shoot, I just might make these for myself TODAY.  Just kidding Coach Oscar, I know these are diet-friendly.

I hope some of you that have older kiddos are able to steal some of these ideas and try them this week!  If you do, let me know how they turn out!!!

I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way :)

Well you all know by now that I love Lady Gaga.

Here's a video of a little girl, Maria, doing her version. Lady Gaga tweeted it to all her followers today. Amazing!

Happy Birthday Musings!

It's been 2 years since I started my blog Musings of A Quarterlife. I have found it a blessing to have the opportunity to share my musings (however random they are) with you. Have a wonderful day. Be blessed.

What You're in For ...

So I realized today that a ton, a TON, of people I know have either just had, are about to have or have just found out that they're going to have a baby.  People I know in real life and people I know in the blog world.  I also realized that a lot of people have NO idea (I know I sure as heck didn't) about what they're "in for".  When you first find out you're pregnant you fantasize about what you'll name your little love, whether it is a boy or girl love, how you'll decorate the love's nursery and all the darling things you'll dress your love in.  What you DON'T know (or aren't prepared for) is what you're actually "in for".  And how trivial, although fun, that stuff actually is.  So here goes.

First and foremost, love.  LOVE.  You have no idea how much you can love something.  And at the same time, you have NO idea how much worry IMMEDIATELY attacks you like a ton of bricks.  You will worry about everything.  To the point that it will make you naseous and physically feel sick.  I deal with this on a DAILY basis and DAILY I have to say "Lord, he is YOURS.  You have intrusted us with this precious little gift, to raise him and nurture him.  To encourage him and let him know he can do and be anything and everything that he wants but in the end, he is YOURS and I trust You.  I trust You and Your promises to me and I trust YOU with him."  And let me tell you ladies that ain't easy.  But you have to.  HAVE TO.  Or it will (and I know from experience) literally eat. you. alive.  And that's exactly what the devil wants, for it to steal all your joy and the amazing time that you have for a moment while they're in this precious phase of baby-hood.  So don't let him.  I fight every day to not let him.

Second, exhaustion.  At first mainly.  Physically, emotionally, spiritually.  You will struggle with exhaustion in every way possible.  Good news is the physical one gets better.  After the first few months of struggling with "OMG I love this little angel so much but if he doesn't go to sleep RIGHT now I think I might lose my mind!" you one day look up and go "OMG he is SLEEPING.  And sleeping well!  Is this a joke?  Where's the hidden camera?"  And the emotional and spiritual ones get better too, but those you have to take an active role in working on.  Which plays into what I talked about above.

Third, advice.  From everyone.  Everywhere.  All the time.  This can be a great thing, don't get me wrong.  When. you. ask. for it.  But when people feel the need to tell you "you aren't feeding them enough" or "you're feeding him too much" or "he should be in his bed already" or "he's not sleeping 12 hours?"  IGNORE IT.  Especially with breastfeeding.  If it works for you, GREAT, but if it doesn't DO NOT STRESS ABOUT IT.  People will make you feel like you are feeding your child knives if you decide to go to formula.  It's absolutely ridiculous.  It's not for everyone.  Yes, it's better for the baby and in all honesty if it worked for me I'd still be doing it right now.  But if your supply gets low or you just CAN'T get them to latch after trying everything that EVERYONE has suggested (and I mean everyone), it is going to be okay.  Formula is not liquid poison.  You are their mother.  Forgive me if I'm wrong but you carried and birthed your baby, correct?  So I'll go with the fact that you know what's best for them.  End of story.

Fourth, you have to smile.  Smile when you're exhausted.  Smile when they're being adorable.  Smile when you have NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING.  Shoot, even smile when you've tried everything you can think possible to make them stop fussing and they won't.  Because it will be gone in a flash.  And they'll be 16, asking if they can borrow your car and you'll give anything to be holding them trying to soothe them from crying.

Fifth, throw your sense of style out the window.  Because even if you do have time to think about making yourself look presentable, you'll spend it making ridiculous faces and voices at your little love and then it will be time to feed, change, fill-in-the-blank, them again.  Maybe give yourself one night.  One night when you know you'll have a sitter or are going out with your mister, to make yourself presentable.  Otherwise?  Invest in some really cute workout/comfy clothes gear and hats (you'll FO SHO not have time to wash, dry and heaven forbid, STRAIGHTEN your hair).   Because it's all you'll wear.  And you'll love it.

Beyond that, take it day by day.  And enjoy it.  I know I'm only about 4 months in and NO EXPERT WHATSOEVER, but this is my experience with my little love.  And I'm lovin' every minute.

Oroma Elewa in US Vogue March 2011

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Oroma before she became the editor of her own magazine!!!! Pop'Africana is the new indie magazine to keep your eye on. That being said, I nearly did a backflip when I saw Oroma in the March issue of US Vogue. I am so happy for her, she's a sweet person and I wish her all the best.

Olivia Wilde Rumored To Be The Next Lara Croft

Though the first two Lara Croft videogame adaptations were largely despised by critics, we've been hearing talk for years about a reboot of the franchise. Names from Kristen Stewart to Kim Kardashian have been suggested to play the female adventurer, but nothing has ever come of any of the rumors.

Now there's a new one to throw on the pile. Gossip site The Fan Carpet has learned from a "source close to the project" (I wasn't sure there was enough of a project for a source to get close to) that Olivia Wilde is an actress now being considered to fill the brown shorts and green tank top of Lara Croft.

Old School Survey.

I was thinking there are a lot of you that are new readers and probably don't know much about me except the fact that I'm a new mommy to the cutest little man EVER (yes, I know I'm biased) and that I live in Texas.  SO, I decided to go old school this TT.  Does everyone remember those quizzes people would post on myspace or forward in emails?  Well I found one online and decided I'd use it as a little "get to know you".  Please feel free to steal it and post your answers on your own blog.

Okay this just might be the most boring thing I've ever done.  But it took me FOREVER so I'm posting it anyway.  I'm not sure this has let you "get to know me" any better, but hopefully you were amused by some of the answers!  Of course I can't end a post without a picture of my little man.  Here's one of him sleeping on mommy ...

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Love is a beautiful and truly amazing thing when you experience it for real.

Weight Loss Update ...

Well, I told y'all I'd update you on this a long time ago but have kept forgetting to.  Scratch that, I was mad (Read:  pouting ridiculously like a giant baby and not looking at what God had blessed me with as progress) that I was stuck at the same number and was putting it off.  I have since figured out what was holding me up (Note: eating a bag of steamed edimame for dinner, no matter how much you love them and try and convince yourself that since they are a vegetable they surely have to be good for you, only does one thing.  Make you retain water) changed it and immediately saw results.  So, since I've started working out and making a conscious effort to watch what I eat (end of December) I've lost 11 lbs!  And I'm T-H-R-I-L-L-E-D.  Now, so the Mister won't get mad at me for not giving myself credit, in total I've lost 41 lbs.  But, not that I'm discounting it, 30 lbs of it fell off by two weeks after I got home from the hospital so the amount that I've lost since starting my workout/eat well plan is 11.  I'm going to take random pictures here and there just to "show" my progress.  And to give myself excuses to take pictures of my little man with his mommy.  So here's one I took today ...

{C wasn't ready for the picture.  He was watching the birdies out the window.  In all fairness, I didn't count to three.}

My face is STARTING to look like me again!  And for the record, I think all the weight I'm losing, little sweet C is gaining.  LOOK at those chubby cheeks!  I could just squeeze 'em all day long!

Sidenote:  (Eyemuffs all you (one) men that read) I'm avoiding the scale for a few days.  You know that thing that happens each month when you don't decide to make adorable little babies?  Well it hurts like the dickens when it's been on "vacation" for almost a year.  Ow-ch.

Oh and apparently Blizzard Watch 2011:  Part II is on for Texas starting tonight so it's possible we may be stuck in the house another day or two.  No big deal.  Did you see the little guy I get to snuggle with up there?

Snow Day(s)

Well, I'm sure most of you've heard, since the Superbowl was here n' all, that Dallas has been having some ca-razy weather lately.  We Texans don't understand how to handle "winter weather conditions" so what do we all do?  Lock ourselves in our houses and don't come out until it's all safely melted.  Of course, being a stay at home mom that was just another Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for me!  Plus, I'm really good at this whole "locked in the house" thing.  Five weeks of bedrest will do that for ya.  Anyways ...

We decided we should document little C's first snow with a few pictures.  We bundled our little buddy up and headed outside to take some pictures in the snow!  Please excuse my eyes, apparently they retract into my head without eye makeup.  Sunglasses would've been a good idea ...

We got so excited that we wore ourselves out.  So the rest of the day involved a lot of the following ...

I hope everyone stayed warm over the weekend!

Compromising......

Now therefore fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and in faithfulness….” Joshua 24:14a ESV (Bolded by me).

I hate when I find myself in a place where my words doesn’t mirror my actions. Lately, I have been asking God to make sure my “Sunday language” (I love this phrase. It means the things I say in church) matches my everyday lifestyle. Let me tell you: never ask God for something because when He delivers on His side you will have to deliver on yours. I can say the past month; the past week even has been an eye opening experience. I realize there are areas in my life that I will not compromise with and than there are areas where I would and I shouldn’t at all. I realized that I have reached a point where I love God more than wanting approval from peers, co-workers and friends. I want to please Him and make Him happy; so that requires a no-compromise on my part in many areas. Why a no-compromise? When people see that you are CONSISTENT (there goes that word again) and your lifestyle lines up with the word of God, you can draw people to Christ because your “no” is always “no” not “yes, on the weekends” and “no during the week”. If we compromise in certain areas of our lives when the word tells not to we become a hindrance to the
building of God’s kingdom instead on a help. Let me use an illustration for you: imagine a wall is being built and you are assigned to a certain section. You make the bricks and build the wall. You have a certain list of ingredients and a mock up of how the wall should look. You decide you will use your own ingredients or skim on some and build the wall the way you like because the mock up and ingredients list is to hard to follow and will take too long. Soon, part of the wall that is being built start to crumble, but it’s not just your part of the wall that’s starting to fall it’s the WHOLE WALL! If you did your part the way you were supposed to, it wouldn’t have happened. That’s how it is in our walk with Christ, God lays out a plan for us and we know for a fact it’s not a bad one (Jeremiah 29:11). He even illuminates the way for us in His word (Psalm 119:105) which is our guide book with all the ingredients to make this life a good one. If we swerve from the path and still try to do the work and confess with our mouths and not with our lives, we will push people further from Christ instead of closer because we decided to cut corners.

We are ONE body (Romans 12:4-5) (arms, hands, feet, toes, fingers, back, legs….you get the picture) and we must work TOGETHER. Body parts can’t operate apart from each other, imagine how we would look if one hand decided to go one way the other another way and our feet in two different directions= absolute chaos! That’s how it is in the body of Christ. We all have certain functions, duties and gifts that TOGETHER work for the building of the church and kingdom. So I have to do my part and you have to do yours and that means INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the church. If you feel like I do, like there’s areas in your life that you compromise aware and unaware bring it before the Lord in prayer….I warn you, He will answer and there maybe things that you may not like about yourself when He reveals it but the blessing is knowing that you have a Father in heaven who loves you and wants you to be more like Him. So when He reveals it to you ask Him to work on those areas in you (you may have to do work as well, don’t be lazy! Lol) and watch the difference it will make. That being said, I (finally) close with this over-used quote: “If you don’t stand for anything, you’ll fall for anything.” That statement packs a punch when you really think about it. What are you not standing for that is allowing you to fall? Be blessed.

Guest Post: Team Us!

I am happy to post this guest post for my friend, Lindsay Todd.  If you want to see proof that Lindsay and I know each other (yes, we're REAL LIFE friends, not just blogger friends, not that y'all aren't real friends ... you know what I mean) read here.  Without further adieu ...

happy friday dear friends of life in the fulmer lane!

allow myself to introduce myself... um, ourselves. we are team us: geoff - the baby daddy, lindsay - wifey, mommy-extraordinaire, and harper - the cutest baby ever (i am not biased. i promise.) oh, and hurley the boxer puppy. (in case you are wondering, my hubby started calling us "team us" while we were dating. he is an athlete and a coach... oh and a marketing genius - so you KNOW we needed to have the team mentality as a couple!)

this is a special day and i had hoped that my first guest post for the AHmazing life in the fulmer lane would not be so much of a plug!

but here it is, and we are thuper duper excited about it (did you see that? i used baby talk spelled out just like the hostess always does!).
the following was written by the baby daddy, my boo (who, like most normal people, likes to use caps. i, on the other hand, am firmly against the usage of capitalization.):

BABY DADDY in the house with a guest post...WOOT, WOOT!

So you know how formative kids are and how much we as parents are responsible for the ultimate development of our child's self-esteem, right? Well, we have asked our babygirl to slip on her dancin' shoes (which just so happen to be the cutest little Chuck Taylors eva) and entertain the world. We need your help to make it known how special she is.....

OK, OK...we actually just want you to enjoy this REALLY fun video and vote for it. (she knows how special she is already because we tell her like 50 million times a day). We did this video with a friend of ours named Tim for a contest on Facebook from "Food Should Taste Good" and it's potentially worth $10,000. It's all voter-based and you can vote once a day through this Monday, February 7th. PLEASE take a second and check out this video. If you dig it, vote for us as many days as you can.

Also, you can hop over to our blog today for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Harper's Touchdown Dance. Thanks in advance for any and all votes / support you provide.

To vote Click HERE.

(Also, if you'd like to stay up on the progress, here's the Facebook event).

thanks so much and nice to meet y'all!

Thoughtless Thursday: Sneeced In.

O.M.G.  Now I know I was on bedrest for 5 weeks, but I swear this 2 days of being confined to the house is about to do. me. in.  Seriously, Texas doesn't do sneece (snow/sleet/ice) very well.  There is a reason we endure 110 degree temps for months at a time.  So we don't have to deal with below zero windchills in the winter.  Geeeeez it's cold.  So, what better time for ...

Today I'm going to post something that I'm looking into ordering soon.  I love love LOVE these Life Planners by Erin Condren.  First of all, let's talk about the cuteness of covers she offers.  These are a few of my favorites ...

Obviously personalized with your own family name.  She can even add a picture of your kids/family on the front!  SO CUTE, right?  Second, LOOK at how much organization is contained inside!  Check out this little video that Erin does to explain how to use the Life Planner ...

I'm going to order mine soon!  Now granted, the last 3 days on my calendar would read "Marooned In House" but I feel like once it gets warmer and I start getting C out of the house more, it will help this momma keep my head on straight!

Now it's YOUR turn!  Grab my button, post whatever random thing you'd like and come back here and link up!  I can't wait to see what you post!!!

Cabin Fever

This is what you do when you can't leave the house for two days in a row ...

Excuse my mommy voice.  I can't turn it off when talking to this little guy.

Opening Up....Well, Trying To.

I had an amazing conversation with my First Lady on Saturday about being single and my frame of mind about the topic. She said she noticed that I closed myself off; and to be honest I had. That is one of the things I love about her, I have known her for over 15 years and she can read me like a book. She's like the big sister I never had...but back to the topic at hand. I have realized that I reached a point where I have cut myself off so that I don't have to deal with any drama. It wasn't intentional at first; it just slowly started.....I just didn't want to be bothered with the drama of being in a relationship. Don't get me wrong, I want to be in one but the RIGHT ONE. And that brings us to why we were having that discussion. I felt that the bad outweighed the good and in a Christian relationship these days, the drama would be too stressful (I came to this conclusion because I was exposed to every one's drama). After talking to her, I realized I was closed off, but my dilemma now is how do I open up? When I made my decision to stay single for One Year I didn't pray about it or seek God's guidance. I just decided that I had enough. Funny thing is the year ends the day after Valentine's Day. LOL, too funny! So I decided to let Jesus take the wheel and stop closing people off (easier said than done). So now that I know this is an issue, I am afraid to see what God will do about it; He seems to be a comedian lately. I guess the issue has come back up because literally ALL of my friends are either married or getting married this year. It doesn’t bother me that I single but I feel like I’m at the point where I might be hindering the next level because I don’t want to go there; pretty selfish right? I don’t want to this and I don’t want to that. The one thing I learn that in CHRISTIAN relationships it’s not about you: it’s about the other person. You must protect their hearts, minds and most important: their salvation. So the question is: does God think I’m ready for such a task?
