Exams!

Yes, this is me confused sitting in the dark. (room mate is asleep)

So apparently, i decided to pull this amazing all-nighter that'll give me enough time to finish half of the material covered in my Microbiology course.

Lies.

i can hardly concentrate, i'm on youtube half the time, i can barely open my eyes now at 6 in the morning...

for those of you out there who thinks all-nighters are a good idea, think again!

it may have been better if i just slept and woke up at 6 in the morning to study, right?

well i don't know since i chose the more harmful to my heath path -.-
haha don't i look horrible right now? desperately trying to stay awake and get this done.
so as to why i'm posting this... well remember how i said i couldn't concentrate? yeah...

Chair Pics ...

A lot of my friends do these month by month chair pics.  They're supposed to look like this ...

{That's my BF's little girl sweet P, also C's future wife.  She's now 19 months.  He likes older women.  He told me.}

But her dad is awesome at Photoshop and I ... well I don't even HAVE Photoshop SO I had to do my own version.  However I need your help.  I can't figure out which color option I like the best.  I played with the color on these pictures and I can't figure out if the first one makes my little guy look like he's jaundice or if they're artsy.  I definately like the color of the chair (this is his glider in his room bytheway, SOME day I'll post finished nursery pictures ...) and the wall better but let's be real here, all that matters is how the little man looks to a mommy.  SO which one?  Picture number 1 or 2?  I will stick with that color scheme for the next 12 months so give me y'all's input, my child's "chair pics" depend on it!

Momma's First Girl's Night ...

The girls in my family on my mom's side do a birfday dinner for each girl's birfday.  Last night was my first one post baby.  It was my Silly's (Sister-in-law for any new readers) birfday and she chose this cute little pizza place by her house where it's BYOB and a giant (and I mean GIANT) slice of pizza costs $3.00.  Awesome for this formula and Pampers buying momma.  Here are a few pictures from the night.  I still have a bit of a chipmunk face but it's slowly going down.  Two more weeks and I can start for REAL working out again training for another 1/2 marathon and get myself a trainer!  Woot woot!

It was nice to get out but I'm not going to lie, I couldn't wait to get home to this guy ...

What I'm Learning About My Hair....

I have been natural since November and did my final cut removing all my relaxed hair; I'm learning some new things about my hair:

1. I Can't Define My Hair Texture......Yet: I actually don't care if my hair is 3c or 4a/b or whatever...My hair as it is growing out now is unruly. It's a combination of coils and curls. I will have to wait until it actually starts to grow out before I "define" it. Lol.

2. I Have To Use Natural Hand Lotions: I have eczema and it effects my scalp as well (one of the reasons I decided to go natural) and I have this problem keeping my hand out of my hair. Smh, it's bad, really bad. Every 5 minutes you will find me playing with a coil or massaging my scalp. So, I switched to Shea Butter hand cream because it doesn't have a fragrance that will irritate my scalp.

3. I Have No Hair Goals: I have seen/read tons of blogs by girls who are hung up on length. I have worn a pixie/gamine haircut since I was 13 (with the occasional grow out/weave), so I never had any kind of attachment and/or obsession with length. I do want healthy hair though; that's all I want. Whatever length it gets to is up to God and I receive the blessing. I do know that I used to fuss with my hair stylist because every six weeks I had to have my hair cut back into the style because it kept growing out, lol.

4. If I Don't Care, They Don't Care:  Anyone who knows me can tell you that I'm always changing my hair. I always keep my hair healthy, and do whatever up keep is needed to maintain my style. So since I have went natural, I have received comments about it but since I rock it like this was made just for me I get nothing but compliments. I have never been a person to have patience with transitioning. I just BC'd (Big Chopped) and moved on. I also like to be daring and walking around with a really short cut really tests how you really feel about yourself. With my haircut, there's nothing in front of you but my face; no cute cut, colour, style, length. It's just me.

5. Natural Products Work Best: I guess it would make sense since chemicals have been destroying my skin since a child (I use detergents with no fragrance, and most perfumes I stay away from because they actually blister my skin!!). I laugh now because I'm slowly turning into those people who are one product away from being a tree hugger).

6. Moisture, Moisture, Moisture!: My hair gets dry so incredibly fast! I have to apply oil to it before I sleep and a rich hair dress to it before I leave the house. I pay close attention to the way hair responds to the hair products. Trial and error works best for me these days.

7. Like Minded Inspiration: Whenever I like something, I always look up the image(s) and save them to look back on later. It helps me keep focused. I also like looking and reading  natural hair blogs but I don't follow everyone of them, just the ones that I feel like we're on the same page. Lol. You know what I mean.....

Well, I will try to keep documenting this interesting journey. I'm learning more about myself and embracing the way God made me. Be blessed.

Multi-tasking ...

This is how a momma gets to take a shower ...

Yep.  He's in his bouncy seat.  On the floor.  In our bathroom.  Poor Koda had to sit this one out outside of the bathroom door.  I love my pup lovin' on his little brother but I don't so much love my pup licking his little brother's face after licking his own private areas.  That's where I draw the line.

Happy weekend all!  Try and get some extra sleep for me and the Mister!

Pics of The Haircut!!!

So it's been a little over a month since I BC (Big Chopped) my hair off. It's now blonde and starting to curl and coil everywhere. I have some pics (finally) of my hair before my recently haircut last Friday:

So I'm done being blonde. I have enjoyed it but with this crazy cold New York weather, I am not trying to get lifting my hair. From October to now I have lifted my hair 3 times!!! My hair is growing like crazy! I have been deep conditioning and treating it because I don't want damaged natural hair. So I'm going to........do an espresso or rich brown colour. I was tempted to do black but since my natural hair colour is in the sandy brown family that would be work that I don't need to do during the cold months, and also black colour always messes with my hair texture. I have no clue why.

Anyway, moving on. I have fell in love with this mens necklace that I purchased from Urban Outfitters. The line is called Waylaid and its a Ribcage! I love it! People ask me why I would buy it and my response is why not? The line has some awesome necklaces, I want to buy a couple more this winter. Well, that's all for now. Be blessed.
