Thoughtless Thursday: Truly Thoughtless

That's right friends, it's ALREADY Thursday again!  And today's TT will be really thoughtless.  Thoughtlessly random that is.

DISCLAIMER:  Blogger is being a giant, butt-dimple, poopy-head, pain in the hemroid and not letting me put my button where I want it to go.  It keeps sticking it at the end of the post no matter WHAT I do, so I'm resorting to letting it do whatever the H it wants so I don't throw this laptop at Dawson's face on the TV screen.

Yesterday was a busy day that consisted of things that needed to get done around the house which turned out to be a very productive day!  One of those productive things was getting our carpets cleaned for the FIRST time since we've lived in our house (being over 4 years, WAY overdue) and part of that process involved the door to the house being open while they were cleaning.  SO, I took my pup, my laptop and my Starbucks and sat outside while catching up on blogs and facebook.  Well I guess the gaseous wonder Koda decided that the patio bench that I was sitting on needed to be tried out by none other than himself.  So what did momma do?  What any good blogger would do.  Snap a picture of course ...

We thoroughly enjoyed the weather and our relaxing day on the patio.

On another note of randomness, yesterday I found a great table to go next to C's glider.  $42, SUCH a steal!!!

As well as this adorable wine glass that I think this mommy MIGHT need after her little one gets here ...

Isn't this too cute?!?  If you can't see it in the picture it says "Mommy's Pacifier" and other cute sayings on the actual glass, like "Just Lost 10 lbs" and "Nurse This" and "Where's MY Bottle?"  I haven't bought it yet but it's on my list of wants ...

And that's IT from me today dolls.  I'm currently watching a little DC.  Putting the complete series on DVD was genius.  Pure genius.

So grab my button, play your random pictures and come back here and link up!  I'm PUMPED (fist pumped even) to check out what you posted!!!

TAG, I'm It!

Well, I've been tagged ladies, and what BETTER day for me to be tagged than on a day that my brain is emptier than a bag of candy corn when it comes anywhere near this pregnant woman ... SO that being the case let's get right to it!  I was tagged by Katie F @ The Life of an Army Wife and Jen @ A Girl in Pearls & A Boy With Toys for this fun 8 Question game.  Both girls had a different set of questions so it looks like I'm going to be answering 16 questions total!  After I answer the quesitons I am supposed to tag other blogs.  And you know what that means right?  I tag you ALL!  So, here goes ...

1.What is your favorite holiday tradition?  Either one you had as a child or one you started with your own family?  Definately spending the night at my Mama's house with all of my cousins.  Every Christmas Eve my parents, my brother and I would go to the candle light service at church and then go home and put our PJ's on and head up to my Mama's house.  My parents would then take us to a neighborhood close to Mama's house to look at Christmas lights where the majority of us would fall asleep and then come back and try to fall asleep on the palette we'd all piled on together while anticipating Santa's arrival later on that night.  The funniest part is we still all do this.  Even at this age ...

{The majority of the cousins minus some spouses and great grandkiddos}

2. What is your favorite book and why?  I'm going to go with the obvious and say The Bible.  Do I really need to say why?

3. What is the best vacation you went on?  If the Mister takes me to Disney World (i.e. my happy place) any time soon then that will be my answer, but until then our honeymoon in Bora Bora.  Hands down.

{I mean this is where we stayed.  You can feed the fish through the floor.  Amazing.}

{Yes I know this barely looks like me.  I just got married people.  I was on the "wedding starvation diet" plus I wasn't pregnant and carrying a child.  Please don't comment and say "WOW that doesn't even LOOK like you!"  I'd appreciate it - not what a pregnant woman needs to hear, mmmmk?}

4. What is your favorite brand of clothes, or store to shop at?  Um, do I have Real Housewives of (insert city here) funds or are we talking Real Housewives of everywhere funds?  Unlimited funds?  Neimans.  Out of my own pocket?  Probably Forever 21 or Anthropologie, however Anthro would need to be out of someone else's pocket the majority of the time.  They're a wittle 'spensive!

5. What is your favorite quality about yourself?  Shoot I don't do well on these types of questions ... I think I'm a good friend.  But you might want to ask my friends, hopefully they'd say so!

6. How do you and your spouse/significant other continue to make your relationship special?  Mine leaves me little sticky notes around the house when he goes out of town for work and randomly brings me home a couple dozens of roses every now and again.

7. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?  When not preggers?  Go out to dinner with the Mister/couple friends and have a good dinner and maybe a margarita or two and then have a game night at one of our houses.  Preggers?  Order dinner in and watch a movie with the Mister.

8. Why do you blog?  It started out as a result of friends telling me I should because they liked my status updates on FB and I was running out of room to post things that would happen to me on a daily basis.  Then my friend, Kelly, designed me a DARLING blog layout and I got so excited about how cute it was that it motivated me to blog as much as I could!

{Kelly & I this past February at dinner.}

Now, onto Jen's questions ...

1.  What is one of your favorite books?  Well, since I already went with The Bible I'll go with my guilty pleasures of books.  The Twilight Series and Harry Potter.

2.  What are you passionate about?  My Lord, my family, my friends and my pup.

3.  What would you love to learn to do?  SPEAK OTHER LANGUAGES!  I would love to be able to fluently spout off Spanish and French like nobody's business.

4.  Who came first, the chicken or the egg?  Depends, am I eating breakfast or dinner?

5.  What is your favorite leisure activity?  Does getting pedicures count as a "leisure activity"?  Because I pick that.  In fact I'm thinking I need a little "leisure" today ...

6.  Describe a time when you got in really big trouble ... Okay seriously, I don't have one.  I'm not kidding I was a really, REALLY good kid.  I cared far too much about my parents and disappointing them than to do anything that I thought might make them disappointed in me.

7.  What about your personality do you wish you could change?  I'm a worrier.  Big time.  But I'm working on that one.

8.  What are you vain about?  Hopefully nothing.  Vanity's an ugly quality.

So there you have it, grab any or all of the questions you want, answer them in a post and tag others to play along!

If y'all think about it, say a little prayer for Koda.  He didn't eat his breakfast when he woke up yesterday morning (which = SOMETHING'S GOTTA be wrong) so I took him to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with him except a SMALL fever.  They think he's got a tummy problem and I KNOW he does due to the fact that he has the WORST. GAS. EVER. at the moment.  Seriously.  It's dee-scusting.  He hasn't eaten today so hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow and spare his momma from breathing hazardous gas get rid of this little tummy bug.

And that's all for today loverlies, Happy Wednesday!!!

My Next Few Days ...

... MIGHT just be a little bit non-productive.  Which is okay because I have a lot of service technicians coming to the house to fix things that need fixin' over the next few days so I need to be here anyways.  What is the attention-getter that will be keeping me so very occupied you ask?  Welllllllll, this little beaute right here ...

HOLY. COW.  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to own the whole season of this genius of a show that took up so many of my teenage years.  OH my guilty pleasure that is Pacey and Joey, how I do love thee.  Thee being your insanely cute and oh so complicated relationship.  It's just so incredibly young lovey-ish that I can barely stand it.  And let me just say, that I feel like if you're a DC fan you're either Team Dawson or Team Pacey when it comes to Joey.  And I am SO Team Pacey.  No question.  Maybe I should make a shirt ... I wonder if there is a scale that could measure as to how much my Mister would make fun of me for that.  I'm thinking not ...

On another note, one other thing that will be keeping me busy today is taking care of this business ...

Nope, I'm not talking about the awesome-ness (an FYI sidenote, I put the hyphens on there so my Mister realizes that I don't actually think that awesome-ness is a word thus causing him to have a literary spasm, I just like to use it so as to enhance the amount of awesome/or insert any other word that "ness" shouldn't be added to - love you sugar!) that is my Silly's photography skills, I'm talking about the horrendous-ness that is my roots so clearly displayed in this picture.  SHEESH why didn't someone TELL me they were so grown out!?!?  Seriously, WHY DIDN'T YOU???  I hold you all responsible.  Not really. Kidding, of course.  But seriously, look at that up there, it's just heinous.  Thankfully it wasn't as fabulously noticeable throughout the whole shoot as it was in this picture.  Gracious sakes.

Besides that friends, like I said, I'll  be spending a lot of time with fictional characters whom I already know by name and story line.  Yep, that's right.  I've ALREADY seen the whole thing through twice.  Bring on the third time baby.  Bring. it. on.

Happy Tuesday loverlies, make it a good one!!!

I Got My Bag!!!!!!

Soooo..........I didn't get the Darien Gloss Joyce. I brought the Five Points Camille in Graphite! I absolutely love it!!!!! It's the perfect colour and style; I'm so happy with my purchase. I also brought two pairs of oxfords: dark grey and black. I need fashionable comfy work shoes so it works. I am working down my Fall 2010 List and I have to say that I'm doing pretty well. I have patterned stockings, shoes, and bag. My hair is currently a burgundy because when you lift black dyed hair that's what happens, lol. It looks great though. I also found my over the knee socks in navy and burgundy at Forever 21 and a high waist short skirt as well from H&M! I was expecting to shell out some serious cash for my fall wardrobe but my pricest item just seems to be my bag. Praise God! Lol.

Monday Monday ...

"Happy" Monday darlings!  I hope y'all had weekends full of INCREDIBLE weather like we did here in Dallas!  I woke up this morning to temps in the FIFTIES and I just. about. died.  I was able to wear my sweats and Uggs to get my morning bagel and Starbucks and it made that pleasant trip THAT much more pleasant.  I don't know about you but I LOVE this time of year and the fact that the holidays are heading our way and it makes it even better when it FEELS that way outside!  I could literally go all year and it not get above 70 degrees and I'd be a happy camper.  I know, I know, HOW am I a native Texan?

Our weekend was very low key, Friday night I went to dinner with my MOH at Chili's and waited for the Mister's flight to land from Chicago (where he was working all last week) and then the Mister and I spent catching up on our DVR'ed shows once he got home.

Saturday we spent taking care of a lot of honey-do stuff around the house.  Getting fans for the baby's room and the office, buying new sheets and curtains for our room, stuff like that.  Raise your hand if you watched the TX/OU game Saturday ... if you could see through this computer screen you'd see that my hand is not raised.  That's because (and yes, I'm from Texas) me and the Mister aren't TX fans (please don't boo and hiss me, I'm a born and raised Texas girl but that doesn't mean I have to be a fan of UT) and a lot of my friends are big Sooner fans so I really don't care too much about the game.  He, of course, watched it on and off throughout the day because no matter what, he's a college football fan.  Me?  Notsomuch.  I only really care to watch teams that I care about.  If it's Baylor, the Cowboys or Notre Dame (the Mister's a huge fan, therefore, by default, I'm now a huge fan) sign me up.  Otherwise?  Take me shopping.  Saturday night we got a little crazy and ordered a pizza and watched a District 9 (AKA as in every other Friday night since I've become so pregnant it's hard to get comfortable) and can I just tell you this is why I don't watch violent and suspenseful movies.  Because I always end up throughly upet and angry at whoever is the bad guy in the movie.  For example, most people would think in a movie about aliens that people would be freaked out and against "team alien" however I, on the other hand, was crying and YELLING at the humans in the movie for being so mean to the poor little aliens.  To the point where I cried real tears, held my ears and closed my eyes for several scenes.  I'm assuming this is not a normal reaction?  Thankfully, it ends up the way it should, but it took a LONG time to get to that point in my opinion!

Sunday my Silly (Sister in law) did me the GREAT honor of being my photographer for my maternity photo shoot!  Can I just say I she did AMAZING!?!?  She had all these ideas, props, etc before we even left and each and every one turned out FANTASTIC!  5 hours and 373 pictures later we had ourselves a great time and a camera FULL of pictures that I can't wait to get developed and framed for our home and in Caleb's room.  Here are just a FEW of my favorites (I didn't think Blogger would appreciate me trying to load 373 pictures at once, even IF it does have the new "multiple loader functionality")

I hope y'all enjoyed the very SMALL sample of the magic she worked!  After the shoot I came home to have a dinner date with the Mister to Patrizio's (one of my most FAVORITEST salads ever is at this restaurant) and then we came home and I uploaded and played with 373 pictures relaxed around the house for the rest of the night.  I hope your weekends were equally as loverly!  Have marvelous Mondays loves!!!

My Top 10 Fav Songs- September

I know I haven't done this in awhile but I have so much new music on my playlist. Here goes:

1. Something in the Water- Brooke Fraser

1st song off of Brooke Fraser's new album entitled "Flags" coming out this month. The song sounds like bluegrass. I love how happy and fun it is. I can't wait to here to whole album. FYI: I will be seeing her in concert with my sister and cousin November 19 at the Highline Ballroom. So excited!!

2. Change in the Making- Addison Road

I love this song. It feels like it was written for me. I love the whole concept that I'm still under construction and God is still working on me. The work is not done.

3. Church Music (Dance!)- David Crowder Band

I love to dance! This song is a feel good, Christian song which is kind of rare. To just dance and not have to worry about the message behind the music is an amazing feeling. One of the best songs I have heard all year.

4. You'll Come- Hillsong United

Do I really need to explain why Hillsong United is on my list? Lol. They remind me of the Maranatha singers when I was younger that my mom used to play on Saturdays while we did our weekend chores. I love their worship music.

5. Needtobreathe- Hurricane

New love alert: I am becoming a needtobreathe fan. I love their mix of southern and rock. This song is just one of those songs that you love but you don't really have an explanation for it.

6. One Shot- Newsboys

Ok............The new Newsboys will never be the old Newsboys or DC Talk. But if DC Talk and Newsboys would have a baby this would be the offspring. The music is awesome. It makes me think of Tait but edgier.

7. Divine Romance- Phil Wickham

Sigh....This song.......There are no words to explain who beautiful this song is. It's a love song to God; but a truly amazing love song that just makes you want to hold your heart when you hear it.

8. Psalm 13- Shane & Shane

This song is one of the songs that we are praise dancing to. The Psalm is a powerful and awesome one. To be in distressed situation and say that you will continue to wait on the Lord shows so much faith in who God is. I hope that I can convey it in dance later this month.

9. Light Up the Sky- The Afters

New song from The Afters!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! I played it over and over and over again on my phone. I would love to ask the songwriter what made him write the song. It makes me think of One Republic's sound (in a good way).

10. Hands- The Almost

I received a sampler from Tooth and Nail records and this was one of the songs I play every Sunday as I get ready for church. The music, lyrics and feel of the song is awesome. I am definitely interested in getting their album.

11. Never Look Away- The Museum

Also on the Tooth and Nail summer sampler. I love their sound. I am still waiting to hear more from them before I know for sure.

12. Clinging to the Cross- Tim Hughes & Brooke Fraser

It’s such a calm worship song that just speaks volumes in the words. "Simply to the cross I cling/ letting go of all earthly things..." Sometimes you don't need to much music to let the Lord know what you are trying to tell Him.

I am going to try and be consistent with my playlist in the future.

Be blessed.

Random Musing: My Quarterlife Crisis

Lately I have been dreading awakening and starting my day. It's the same routine: work, home or work, church. No variations, nothing exciting and interesting. I don't compare my life to others; I just think about where I could be if I buckle down and get serious.  Even working on my portfolio for design school has been a nightmare. I have no inspiration! After praying and thinking things over I realized what my problem is: I'm having a Quarterlife Crisis. I'm 25 years old (will be 26 in 1 month), I have a job but not a career, I'm single with friends who are all either married or engaged and I don't do anything for fun anymore. So, I am determined to make changes for the better. I'm trying to figure out what to do to get some inspiration for my portfolio asap since the deadline for early admission is in one month, I am trying to learn more about myself and what truly makes me happy, sad, etc. and I'm opening up my circle of friends. Most importantly, I'm working on my relationship with the Lord. I will know more about myself once I know more about Him. It's so funny how once I start to feel disconnected from Him, I start to feel disconnected from myself. It's like a relationship; when you haven't seen your boyfriend/girlfriend in a while you feel it. I want my next year to be blessed and led completely by God........be blessed.
