What Bracket Do You Fit Into?

I was reading a fellow blogger post today about genres in music. Like if you're Christian is your music automatically Christian too? I had to really think about it. There are a lot of bands out there that are Christians but they don't cater to that market per say. So what does that mean? I look at it like this: everyone can give their opinion about Christian & Secular genres; but the only thing that matters is their relationship with Christ. They will have to answer for themselves in the end, we can't speak for them. I was raised that it boils down to this: you're either a Christian or you're not. There isn't a in between. Youre life should reflect your relationship. I won't judge anyone because I would not like to be judged myself. Its up to you to decide where you stand.

I Have Something To Say!

It's almost been a month since I started my blog! I know of a couple of readers (I thank you) and I feel blessed to know that someone is reading my odd and sometimes reflective musings. I write a lot, I mean a whole lot. I have written and doodled on papers all over my room, in my journals that I carry with me all the time, even in my book reserved for taking notes during sermons. There's always an idea, a thought that pops in my head and my mind ponders over it and eventually it becomes this: an entry. I don't know if anyone will ever read it, or if I will ever have readers who will check my blog on a daily basis; but I feel better knowing I have cleared some space in my head.
Ok, moving on. Yesterday, I met up with my cousin and some of his groomsmen to try on some suits for the wedding (they are going to wear khaki suits from J.Crew!). It amazes me that I know more about men suits then they do (minus my cousin). I would think after all these years of wearing them, they would have some idea of what size they wear and what cut suits their body type. So Saturday, (another weekend that will not belong to me) I will be heading out with my cousin and his groomsmen to make sure everyone is measured, and I will have to figure out what cut would suit which person. I will also have to track down tie pins, cuff shirts, cuff links, shoes, socks, and belts (if you met my cousin, you would understand why all this matters) so that everyone will be taken care of and looking handsome the day of the wedding. OMGosh, how could I forget? My cousins suit is Amazing! It is an Armani 3 piece suit! I will try to post pictures of everything! (Once I figure out how to do it, lol).

Birthday Repeats

Do people change? Maybe. But deep down they really stay the same.

How do I know this? Because two people bought me the EXACT same birthday card this year as they did last year.

The honours go to Jaelene and my grandma.

My grandma is old and I think she drinks a lot... she has an excuse. Jae's a brunette at the moment... No excuse.

I loved it though. Sometimes it feels like everything in life changing too fast and nothing stays the same, so it's nice to have some stability. And it makes me laugh and I like that. And it was a really cute card. MUAH!

A Birthday Surprise!

On my birthday a bunch of family came over for dinner. We had turkey. YUM. We also had Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing. DOUBLE YUM.

We were all sitting in the living room watching the hockey game and then between periods they did a profile on some player. I wasn't really paying attention, until my uncle made some comment about the guy. I sat there for a minute thinking about why his name was familiar to me.

Then I remembered why: I made out with him a few years ago. See Just Call me Demi... or a Puck Bunny circa 2005.

I wanted to yell "I made out with that dude hahaha!" but then changed my mind considering my whole family was there including my sister, her hubby, my parents, aunt, uncle and grandma.

Perhaps not quite appropriate, but I had myself a good giggle.

Give Me Your Eyes

Every time I get on the train and sit down, I have to close my eyes or read a book. If I don't, I find myself staring at the different people on the train with me. I often wonder what their stories are, where they came from, what they are going through. I always used to hear that there's always someone out there less fortunate than you. What if I was staring right at them? What if the person sitting next to me needed something to eat, money to get home, etc.? How would I know? Would I help? Sometimes I feel like I think too much, that I need to keep my mind occupied so that I won't stress myself out. There's a song I heard a couple of days ago on the radio called "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath. It had me thinking: what if we saw what God saw? Would we show compassion and love? Would we reach out to to those who are lost? Or would we be comfortable in our blinded state? I think to be honest a lot of us including myself; sometimes would chose the latter. We want to help, but sometimes it feels like too much; like they're too many people out there in need and not enough time and/or money. But if each one of us helped one person in need think about the difference it would make?! If we adopted a "Pay it Forward" mentality and each person helped the next person and so on and so on; without expecting a thing, what kind of world would this be?

Twilight:Bella's Lullaby/Watch Star Wars

So lately I've been updating on all sorts of movies I've watched. Some including Pan's
Labyrinth, and High School Musical 3. YES, a Disney movie :P. I know I know, why? well
I've had a secret obsession with HSM even since it aired on the Family channel! the song "the start of something new" and "breaking free" was 2 of my favourite songs for the longest time. To download HSM3 was only natural for me :P since
I already saw the first 2 on the Family channel

some else related to HSM3 but not really is Twilight. another one of those movies that made a super teen
heartthrob out of the male actor. well i was looking around on youtube and i can across picture sideshow movies with similar background music to them. it was called Bella's
Lullaby to all the Twilight fans, but in reality, it's called "River Flows In You". It is a
piece of brilliant piano score by a Korean pianist Yirma. (i think, this is all just information i gathered on youtube through comments and descriptions)
Yiruma - River Flows In You

and here's how it should sound just in case you are like me, music illiterate :P

well other than that, my Media Studies teacher forced us to watch the oldest star wars ever made. it was ok. but then she showed us a documentary called the of how star wars came to be, the struggle for independence from George Lucas. the magic of the effects, acting, every single little details about all the star wars films! as you should know, my teacher's one of those star wars geek :P but she's awesome and intelligent.

so the documentary really interested be, one of the BEST out there. i wish i could tell you the name, but i just can't remember, my mind is all set on what I'm going to do during the spring break!

my point is, the documentary triggered my old memories of the other episodes of star wars, thus i looked it up on youtube, (yes i'm a youtube junkie!)and i found more than i bargained for. i found a play list of

Star Wars Episodes:
  • 4: A New Hope
  • 5: The Empire Strikes Back
  • 6: Return of The Jedi

I never understood why George Lucas started with episode 4 to film first, he was a weird one :P a genius
