Wishful Wednesday: Gowns

Here we go again kids!  Wishful Wednesday.  And today's topic is ...

'I Wish' I could've worn any of the below pictured dresses on my wedding day!

Truth be told, if I were to do it all over again I would, without a doubt, hands down wear the EXACT dress I wore on my wedding day again.  Over and over and over (if I could still fit in it that is, apparently I thought not eating for 6 months at one point was a good idea, who knew?) My mom saw this one in the window (as did I, but I bit my tongue because I knew it was a BIT out of our price range) and said that I had to have it because it was 100% me.  I put it on, we both gasped, cried, called the President and did a little dance and IMMEDIATELY knew it was "the one".

{I know you can't tell, but it's a pick-up skirt with organza pleating all over the bottom, there are buttons on the back and organza near the chest line}

It was made by Yolanda Couture.  Which I can't, for the life of me, find a picture of the actual one I wore, but let's face it, that WAS 5 years ago and she MAY ... I don't know ... have moved on and designed other dresses.  Just guessin' here.  SO, here's what I would choose if I HAD to choose something selling in the stores today ...

Or maybe this lovely number ...

Or ABSOLUTELY this beauty ...

Kidding of course. You were worried there for a second weren't you?  You were about to de-follow me.  Admit.  You thought about it ...

In all seriousness (not that I'm EVER in all seriousnes, how boring is that?)  Here is another Yolanda beaute that I found on theknot.com that I would also be MORE than fine to be caught in ...

LOVE the organza pleating, very similiar to what was going on my dress, except in all white.

We CAN'T do a wedding dress post without giving credit to Monique Lhuillier ...

 LOVE this - because I love all things ruffledy, frilly and girly.  LOVE flowers and ruffles.  Or fluffles as my Silly and I call them.  Because we love them, and our misters ... do. not.  A little more Monique ...

More fluffles.  L.O.V.E.  Minus the random hat/beanie/leaf/head bandage ... thingy.  Oh the fashion world.  I love it, but sometimes I just. don't. get it.

And of course we CAN'T talk about wedding dresses without giving credit to the QUEEN herself, Vera Wang.  Anyone waiting to see her (discounted) wedding dresses come out at Kohls?  No?  Just me?  Moving right along ...

This just looks like flower petals all throughout the bottom.  Swoon.

Sidenote:  I have hips.  Womanly ones at that.  I have begged God to give me the boyishly adorable straight figure to no avail.  So, therefore I choose NO straight gowns.  Because they emphasize said hips.  And WHO wants to be walking down the isle with people thinking "well at least those hips will be good for bearing children".  Which I'm sure they will be, but at least let me get to the honeymoon first, I'M IN ALL WHITE!!!  No straight dresses for me.  No ma'am.  No siree.

And last but not least.  Vera is NEVER least, nobody puts Vera in a corner ...

I. heart. tiers.  LOVE them.

So that's all for today kids.  What's YOUR dream wedding dress?  Would you wear yours again like I would?  And if you COULDN'T, say you'd never seen it, worn it, loved it.  What other dresses would you LURVE to wear?  Well?  Go on.  Post about it, head on over to Kelsey's blog, link on up and tell her about it!  Inquiring minds want to know! (Note - I will end all Wishful Wednesday's with this phrase).
