Caleb's Second Baby Shower ...

WELL.  It happened.  They let me out of lockdown the house.  And I can honestly say I've never been so happy to leave the house in my life.  I know it doesn't really sound like a big deal (and it really isn't) but I hadn't left the house since the Saturday before this past one and it felt kind of odd to do so!  Odd, but at the same time, fantastic.  It was great to get out and see my family, get some fresh air and MOST of all, celebrate our little man!  This was my second shower and I can't even begin to express how loved this little man already is.  As a matter of fact, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.  The shower was given by my aunts Joann and Norma Lou, my cousins Tammy and Machell and close family friend, Gayle at my mom's house.  It was perfect, from the food, to the decor to the company.  Caleb and I had a blast.  He's currently emphasizing it by dancing around in my belly.  And I felt fantastic the whole time.  I was a good girl and sat mainly in my chair the whole time, but I did get up to give hugs, get my umteenth glass of baby shower sherbert punch food and use the bathroom (hey, I'm a pregnant lady, this is bound to happen several times during ANY trip I take).

But like I said, let's let the pictures speak for themselves.

{Grandmomma and momma to be!}

{The two aunties.  Aunt Erin (brother's wifey also known as "Silly") and Aunt Ally (my little sister)}

This is the series I like to call "The Funniest Shower Games Ever".  Basically it was like the TV show "Minute To Win It" where they drew names out of a bowl and competed against each other in various competitions.  The first was who could drink the water in the baby bottles the fastest, who could put the alphabet magnets in order the fastest and lastly, who could cloth diaper the scary baby dolls the most times.  All in a minute.

{Mama's SEWIOUS!}

And thus begins the series I like to call "The Face of High Blood Pressure" (i.e. swollen, chubby face syndrome)

{SOOO funny how appropriate this is, I LOVE IT!}

And this is the series I like to call "Pictures with Katie Claus" since I am seated, in a large chair, with a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly as people crowd around me and I remain stationary.

{"What would YOU like for Christmas little girl?  Have you been naughty or nice?}

Isn't this one LOVED little boy?  And one loved momma too I might add, you should've seen the way people were fretting over me, not letting me stand up or do a THING.  I seriously felt so melodramatic.  BUT doctor's orders!

I can also tell you your prayers were heard because I felt WONDERFUL the whole time at the shower and after coming home and taking my blood pressure, it was a TINY bit high, but no worse than after getting up here around the house to run to the bathroom or get myself a drink.  We go to the doctor tomorrow to check on little man and myself and I'm HOPING I might get a little lienancy on my activity (or lack thereof) after proving that I can follow instructions ...

Wish me luck!

I Would Like to Wish Myself a ...

Yesterday.

Apparently I've been so "busy" (ahem, lazy, sleepy, bored, etc) that I COMPLETELY forgot about it.  Shoot, I wish I'd done something exciting or special but it looks like I'm up you-know-what creek without a paddle on that one.  Sorry about the anti-climatic celebration.  SO here's what I AM going to do ....

"Happy Blogiversary TO ME,
Happy Blogiversary TO ME,
Happy BLOGIVERRRSSSAARRRRYYYY dear Life in the Fulmer Laneeeeeeeeee,
Happy Blogiversaryyyyyyy toooooo meeeeee"

Exciting eh?  I know, you can barely contain yourself.

On another note, I have my second shower today!  It's my one approved outing by my doctor for the week and I'm flippin'. thrilled.  If you think about it say a little prayer that my BP stays in a good place and that I'm able to relax but still enjoy my shower at the same time.  I'm hoping that if I can show some proof to my doc that I'm taking it easy, I might get some time off for good behavior ...

And last but certainly not least, if you haven't already visited Live.Laugh.Love's blog (or seen the Praying for Brayden button on my page) please do so now and lift some prayers up for their little sweet little guy.  He was due the same day as Caleb but was born early about 6 weeks ago.  He has been doing so well and making huge strides over the last week, however he's had a pretty big set back over the last several days.  I know they would appreciate any and all prayers and caring thoughts that you could send their way.

 "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."  Psalm 18:2

A Premature Apology ...

So, I'm going to have to go ahead and apologize to y'all for what I can only imagine will be posts o' boringness over the next few weeks.  As exciting as sleeping, making my breakfast, going back to the couch, visiting the porcelain throne, going back to the couch, visiting the porcelain throne, going back to the couch, visiting the procelain ... you get the idea.  As exciting as all that is, I'm THINKING it's not something you'd like to read on a daily basis.  Psshhhhhh, I've fallen asleep 4 times just typing it.  SO, short of taking pictures of myself and/or Koda to amuse you (and myself), updating every 30 minutes in a "status update" type style or giving you play by plays on Koda's sleeping, itching and licking habits, I'm afraid it's going to be a little boring on The Fulmer Lane.  Heaven knows it is at the Fulmer household.

SO, I figured I maybe you could all help me out with some ideas on things to keep me busy over the next 3 to 5 weeks.  I've come up with a list of my own ideas, however I'm not sure they're the best options ...

1.  Whittle lawn ornaments out the bed posts, kitchen cabinets and/or wooden stair posts.

2.  Play tick tack toe/Monopoly/Scrabble/Scattegories ... with Koda.

3.  Teach Koda to speak.

4.  Teach Koda to speak Pig Latin.

5.  Teach Koda to cook (notice the reoccuring pattern of teaching KODA to do things, this being because I'm literally, not allowed to ...)

6.  Become my own professional manicurist/pedicurist.

7.  Become a HSN frequent shopper (the Mister does NOT like this idea)

8.  Become an avid online shopper (again, the Mister = not a fan)

9.  Watch every episode of A Baby Story, Deliver Me: Home Edition and Bringing Home Baby made.  EVER.

10.  Eat all the contents of my pantry.

11.  Master sleeping almost as well as a Narcoleptic.

And that's all I've got so far.  Like I said, any and all suggestions are welcome.  Please don't get me wrong, I am incredibly thankful that baby and I are healthy and doing well and thankful that my amazing OB and her nurses caught this issue before it became serious.  I'm just dealing with the idea of not being able to get done all the things that need to be done before little man gets here.  And I'm getting there, but it's still hard to MAKE yourself sit still, limit your trips up and down the stairs and listen to your husband when he says "TAKE. IT. EASY." but that may be more because I'm stubborn than anything.

Hopefully I've not already bored you all to death on my first of many boredom-filled posts.  Now, time to go visit the porcelain throne ... or who knows I might get a little crazy.  I MIGHT just take a nap first.
