My Top 10 Fav Songs- September 2009
1. Ayeisha Woods- Love Like This
I have just discovered Ms. Woods and I absolutely love her! Her R&B sounds and amazing lyrics have put her on my new favs list!
2. Britt Nicole- Set the World On Fire
The song talks about asking the Lord to use her to make such a difference in the world that they world gets set on fire! How awesome is that? To be used by God in such a mighty and awesome why. If God uses me to set one person on fire, I am grateful and truly humble because He saw it fit to use me; but the world? Wow. That is an amazing request.
3. Barlow Girl- I Need You to Love Me
This is an oldie but goodie. I love the honest expression of the song. It makes me think.
4. Israel & New Breed- To Worship You I Live (Away)
An amazing worsip song! I want to praise dance to this asap! It is so beautiful and so true. We were created to seek that closer relationship with God and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
5. Hillsong United- Lead Me to the Cross
OMGosh! I love this song! We sang it at Elevate and it was such an amazing experience. I really love the chorus: "Lead me to the cross, where Your love poured out. Bring me to my knees, Lord I lay me down. Rid me of myself, I belong to You. So lead me, lead me to the cross." Absolutely amazing!
6. JoAnn Rosario- When I Enter Your Rest
I first heard this song at a concert in the acoustic, bilingual version. It was lovely. So after tracking down the song and playing it until I learned every word. It reminds me of a psalm. When we enter His rest; every hurt, pain, sadness disappears. We become strong because we are suroounded by Him.
7. Michael W. Smith- All In The Serve
This song is so old! Lol. It's from a movie that came out awhile ago called "Second Chance". I was so happy when I found this song. It's catchy, uplifting and still speaks to the Lord. Its about having the Lord work on us and in us until what we do is for Him and its only about serving.
8. The Letter Black- Hanging On By A Thread
NEW BAND ALERT! This band is fronted by a lady (love it!), and they are on my "Going to hear more from" list. The band is straight rock, which I happen to love and the led vocals make it even better. The song talks about needing to be saved because they're hanging by a thread. I know I have been there and I definitely can relate.
9. Toby Mac- I’m For You
I love Toby Mac. It's not because he's 1/3 of my favorite band EVER (DC Talk) but because he offers the music that makes your feel good and still uplifts Christ. His music isn't compromised but still gets the message across. This song is tying as my favorite Toby Mac song (Made to Love is my all-time fav); the lyrics, music, etc. is awesome.
10. David Crowder Band- How He Loves
This song is off of the bands new album "Church Music". The song makes me think back to the old worship experience that used to be brought on by the hymns. That music can make me feel like I'm talking straigh from my heart. This song reminds us of how God loves us and How awesome and strong His love is for us.
I hope you guys like my selection. Be blessed.

Breaking Free
It’s time to break free and rejoice in the freedom that only comes from Jesus. We need to embrace the fresh start we have and allow God to use us for His glory. A new chance and a do-over have been given to us. Its time now to live as God will have us, no the way we want to anymore. Aren’t you excited? It’s a chance to do it right, we have a manual to help us at that, lol. The Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (by the way, that reminds me of my favorite Burlap to Cashmere song “Basic Instructions”). I feel like I’m rambling, lol. But seriously, it’s a whole lot easier when you have a manual for life; think about it.

I'm East Indian Barbie!
We started the morning off with some McBreakfast. Mmmm. Bad idea though. No, not because of the impending diarrhea... because we found out that you eat at the temple before the ceremony... AND after the ceremony.
I wore a "white person" outfit to the ceremony at the temple, but brought my mom's shawl to cover my head. Good thing too, because if I hadn't I would have to wear this napkin thing and look like a pirate. Arrr.
Needless to say I didn't understand a word of the ceremony... really need to work on my Punjabi. All I can say is "hello," "water," and "go fuck your sister." The priest guy kept waving this thing that looked like a big feather duster and the couple got a lot of money.
After the ceremony (and eating again) we headed back to my friend's house to relax before the reception. They fell asleep immediately and I was awake so went on the computer for a bit and then into her roommates room to sleep. When I finally started to doze of they came in and wanted to talk. When I need to sleep I need to sleep... so they went to Cactus Club and I went to lalaland.
Some other friends came over to tie my sari and get my ready for the ceremony. I had borrowed a light pink sari from a girl my mom used to work for. Then I did pink makeup and a pink dot thingy (word?) on my forehead. I'm not afraid to say it... I looked DAMN GOOD.
The wedding was a lot of fun too. Pretty much it was a lot of eating and drinking (open bar... what what!) until the couple showed up at like 10:30. Then we ate the actual dinner and danced. I got into a dance-off with this middle aged Indian lady which was crazy fun.
The bride's 19-year-old cousin was hitting on me. Very cute... but 19. And brown. Not my thing! Not a racist... but I've been there before and it doesn't work. Only white boys for me!
Some guys wanted me to come out downtown with them. I was like "Ummm do you see what I'm wearing?" and they were like "So?" Yeah... not gonna wear a sari to Republic. We went home and crashed.

boys over flowers?
ok so the korean version of Boys Over FLowers was a big hit all across Asia. But how will the mainland Chinese Version, Lets Go Watch Meteor Shower / 一起来看流星雨, compare?
I personally haven't seen the Korean version but i just finished the Chinese one, and i have to say: it's wonderful!
Here's a link for you to watch all the episodes with English subtitles :)
If that doesn't work out, here's a youtube channel for it.
first ep, prt1.
The four boys are just as hot. I didn't think any of them was that special until i finished the drama.
From a first glance, the nice one out of the H4 (F4) looked really hot!
But then after the drama i think he's pretty cute... he's got those cute buck teeth that makes him look like a chubby bunny when he smiles! soooo adorable!
I didn't think the leader was all the good looking, but after the drama it seems he had grown on me. When ever he smiles it's like heaven is lighting up! and it's not the drama or anything, but his smile is just so warm and friendly!
Here's him smiling at the lead actress's birthday party:
All the guys are now very attractive to me :) and the lead actress is very pretty, and lucky too! hanging with the H4 and have Top Combine celebrate her birthday with her! lucky lucky lucky~!
of course all good dramas have to have good style, and Meters/bonwe happens to be a huge sponsor of the drama. when i went back to China i bought most of my clothing there. They had a special section where they had clothing that has the same style as the actors' outfits! I was going nuts over them! :P
And also, good dramas comes with music. and i love this one from Lets Go Watch Meteor Shower / 一起来看流星雨 OST

Don't Speak!

Sailing, Sailing in the Ocean Blue (Brownish-Blue, it is Vancouver)
I was ready in 20 minutes.
They picked me up, we headed downtown to the waterfront and boarded a 50-foot sailboat. It was WAY huger than I'd expected. It even had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
We started off with an amazing feast. Well it was like cheese and crackers and dip but mmm mm good. Ok well actually we started with a few drinks but that should go without saying.
We drove around Stanley Park and under the Lions's Gate Bridge and all around Vancouver before we put the actual sails up. If anyone's never sailed before, as I hadn't, it's kinda scary. Fun scary, but still scary. The boat is tipped over at like probably a 35 degree angle. Stuff was falling off the shelves in the galley. (Don't worry, the alcohol was safe!) We would go to the opposite side which was up in the air just to balance it out a little.
When the wind died down a bit in the afternoon we moored and went to get some more food. At the dock we were at we were just lying around and tanning when a local celebrity walked by... Pamela Martin, of CTV news fame. We all kinda looked at each other like "Isn't that the news lady?" and then one of my friends chased her down for a picture. You could tell she liked the attention. It's not every day 50-something ladies have 20-something men hooting at them.
After a dinner of roasted chicken, salad and insanely expensive water (we convinced ourselves that the VOSS just tasted better) we headed back to town.
That was definitely better than the lazy Sunday I'd had planned. Thanks Christophe!
PS. I just added this last pic for some man-candy. You're welcome!

Britney Bitch
Everyone knows I love Britney. I've loved her since she first came out. Then she went crazy. I still loved her. I knew she would come back.
When she announced a concert in Vancouver I was there. At least, unlike in Grade 10, I wasn't wearing fake leather pants and a white wifebeater.
I pre-drank and had cucumber sandwiches (mmm) at my girlfriend Elise's downtown then headed to GM Place. (I had to meet my girlfriend Cerina there because she worked late.) We got there a bit late (hey, I was druuunk) and I headed upstairs to our seats to catch a bit of the Pussycat Dolls before Cerina arrived. I danced up a storm to Jai Ho before I went down to meet her.
This is where we lucked out. Someone (who I majorly owe and won't be named) managed to get us down onto the floor for the Britney section of the concert.
The concert was good... I mean nothing compares to Brit Brit circa 2002 or so, but she held her own...
Until her diva move that is. She had gone offstage for a costume change and didn't come back... for a half hour. Then a voice came up on the loudspeaker telling us that it was too smoky and a hazard to the dancers. Too smoky? Well first off have you seen the amount of shit coming out of your smoke machines? And secondly you're in VANCOUVER! These things are just a given! The first major concert I ever attended was Our Lady Peace in grade 8 and it was much, much worse.
Finally she came back on and half-assed the rest of the concert.
As she ran off the stage at the end she yelled: “Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don’t smoke weed! Rock out with your cocks out! Peace out motherfuckers!" At least she's good for a laugh.
The thing is though... I'm like a mama with her child. I can be mad at Britney, I can say that I don't like her very much right now, but I'll always love that little biotch.

It's Your Life!
o Kristen Stewart o The Runaways

While filming The Runaways movie, Kristen Stewart cut her trademark long, full hair into an uneven 'mullet' hairstyle. Photos of the hairstyle were released on June 11, 2009, garnering a great deal of media attention.
The Runaways is a 2010 biopic of 1970s all-girl rock band of the same name. The Runaways was written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, and stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, Stella Maeve as Sandy West, Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford, and Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley. Alia Shawkat plays the band's bassist, a fictional character named Robin. None of The Runaways former bassists are portrayed in the film.
The Runaways is loosely based on lead-singer Cherie Currie's 1989 autobiography Neon Angel: The Cherie Currie Story which details her fractured childhood, the group's meteoric rise to fame, and her subsequent battle and recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The Runaways covers the formation of the band through to Cherie's departure at the peak of their success. Jett has stated that "The Runaways" is "absolutely not a biopic. It's not fact-for-fact. What they did was basically take elements from the Runaways story and created a parallel narrative."
wait and see...

you even set my world into motion...

Favor
I thank God for favor. I was reading my Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional (a new fav) and I was amazed at the way she broke it down. She said favor was something that is available to all but not everyone has enough faith to access it. And there lies the problem: not enough faith. Sometimes I wonder how we as Christians get by when we don’t believe that Good can deliver us out of the littlest situations. I remember when I was praying on Saturday at the concert; God told me that he made this world just by saying it. My situation was nothing for Him. And that’s what we need to remind ourselves, this situation is easy for God; we have to believe that He can do it and ask Him to bestow His favor on us in the midst. Be blessed.
