Another Month Has Past
We are already done with April and are looking to May. The days are going by so fast! I am wondering how will things be for me this time next year. I know I will be looking forward to my other best friends wedding; actually a lot of my friends are getting married next year, lol. But I have to truly say that God has been good to me. I am forever grateful to Him.

My Top 10 Fav Songs- April 2009
Now with all my talk of Brooke Fraser, you know she will have at least 5 songs on my list, lol. But I love to share what I call my life soundtrack; it you a better idea of what I have been thinking and mediating on during the month.
1. Albertine, Shadowfeet, Love Is Waiting, Lifeline, Honest- Brooke Fraser
Albertine- is a story about Rwanda; it is such a moving song and makes you want to make a difference in the world.
Shadowfeet- is about staying in Jesus in the midst of it all. I listened to this song practically 3 times a day! I love that confidence in knowing that no matter what we are standing on the firm foundation that is Christ Jesus.
Love Is Waiting- This song is an encouraging song for me because it tells you not to rush love; its waiting on you for the perfect time and season. It will be amazing and worth the wait.
Lifeline- I was at a point when I was feeling the tug of separation between me and the Lord. I felt like I was unintentionally drifting away. The song made me evaluate where I stood.
2. Hosanna- Hillsong United
This song is an amazing worship song. I love it! It just makes me want to close my eyes and sing (off-key) out loud! Lol. It’s a plus that Brooke Fraser wrote the lyrics.
3. Invisible- Kierra KiKi Sheard
I like this song because it speaks about humbling yourself and letting the Lord shine through to be the star of the show. It’s not about us; but about Jesus.
4. Learning to Breath- Switchfoot
Do I seriously need to say why I love this song? It’s Switchfoot for one, and second the song has been a fav of mine for years. Its about learning how to do everything with Jesus; we are so used to it being about us but when you accept Him you have to learn how to do it all from scratch.
5. While I’m Waiting- John Waller
So I haven’t seen Fire Proof yet, but this song is AMAZING! How many of us can say while we are waiting on God we are still working, giving our all to Him? It’s an honest song; in the hard times, when we are happy or sad; we will still keep waiting on Him to reach that next level.
6. My Day- Canton Jones
I love this song! It’s like a declaration song to me. My favorite verse says: “I will not wait for anything to happen, I will take an action”. How cool is that!
7. On the Way- Elizabeth Hunnicutt
I found out about this artist from a fellow blogger http://thescottishwisdom.blogspot.com (The Scottish Wisdom). She has this folk/acoustic rock feel to her but she sounds like a young Twila Paris. The song talks about along the way (the walk in Christ) we are learning, we are taking each step, discovering ourselves along the way.
8. Rock What You Got- Superchick
Superchick Rocks! This song is a great feel good song that helps me become more energized on those days when I don’t want to get out of bed. It’s telling you to be yourself, and don’t change for anyone.
9. Give Me Your Eyes- Brandon Heath
This song is so cool. I love that it calls for us to be aware of others. If we had God’s eyes what would we see that we normally wouldn’t pay attention to?
10. Never Going Back to OK- The Afters
I got my cousin addicted to this song! It’s a feel good declaration song! We are never going back to OK; we are new, changed and everything will never be the same.
I hope you like the selection. Be blessed.

Why I like Hockey Players
Some people ask my why I have this fascination with hockey players. Well, it's simple. It's a case of national pride.
I mean, I love Canada, but we aren't good at that many things. We have bad TV, we don't sell booze at grocery stores, we don't have tropical vacation spots, we don't have cool accents and we definitely don't win gold medals.*
What ARE we good at? Hockey!

Add this to the pile: When our parents were young they got to pause their school day, gather around the TV and watch astronauts being shot into space. The only live TV I've ever got to see in the classroom was the hockey finals at the Olympics. The ENTIRE school was shut down... That's apparently how important the administration found for us to watch that game. See... it's not even my fault, it's a learned behaviour!
So you see... liking hockey players is my doing my part for the country! Supporting them is supporting hockey which supports the economy which supports Canada. Got it?
*Except in hockey.

3 O'Clock Slump....
Whenever this time comes, I am wishing I had a job where I could walk around and stretch. I get so exhausted at this time everyday. I practice bad habits at this time as well. I want junk food, candy, CAFFIENE, but I am trying to be good and avoid all of those. Maybe I’ll have fruits and nuts tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes.

We Can Make A Difference
I have been feeling the need to serve others the longest and I remember I wanted to volunteer with a passion when I read about the life of Jim Elliot. If you don’t know about him, you should Google him. He was a missionary who lost his life because he wanted to spread the gospel to those who never heard of Jesus Christ. He died so that others would live in Christ! I can’t think of a better way to go. His quote will always stay with me: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” His quote sounds like a modern day disciple for Christ. I watched the video “Albertine” by Brooke Fraser (Ligertwood) and it moved me. If you never read about the genocide in Rwanda, you need to read about it ASAP! I want to travel and help others, it makes you realize the things that you take for granted. I have vacation time coming up and with my Pastor’s permission, I would love to go overseas and do some Christian volunteer work. It would be better than just lounging and doing nothing right? And if we are feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and helping the helpless; we are doing as Jesus requested of us. We are helping Jesus when we help them. We can’t minister to someone who can’t hear anything but the rumbling in their stomach. You feed them, and then introduce them to Christ. The same goes for someone who has no clothes or nowhere to live. I guess I reached the point where I just can’t be immobile anymore; I have to get up and do something to help the body of Christ.

The 80/20 Rule?
Never heard of it? The 80/20 rule is when someone is in a relationship and they see only the flaws in the person, so they start looking for what they’re “lacking” in someone else. It could be anything frivolous: too short, doesn’t laugh at your jokes, etc. You find the little things that were missing in your spouse but you realize that they are missing everything else: the 80%. We have to realize, no one is perfect; not even you. We have to real with ourselves, no one is perfect; so why would we wan something we’re not. Let’s be realistic: everyone has flaws; its better to love them unconditionally than try to change them and make them someone God has not intended them to be. We’re fearfully and wonderfully made. Let’s not forget that.

No Words...
There are days when I would rather be at home in my bed, locking myself off from the outside world. I am one of those people that if it can happen, there’s a chance it will happen to me. I finally figured out something about myself that I don’t like. I am an emotional sadist. I destroy, tear down, and ruin myself emotionally so no one else will have a chance. Then, I only associate myself around people who won’t put me out of my comfort zone: they only talk about themselves, barely ask questions about you, etc. I came upon this realization because I just spoke to my ex boyfriend today and he told me that he’s expecting a baby. I felt like I was being suffocated, then I realized why. We are still attached; there’s a yoke between us that hasn’t been broken yet. I still love him and he still loves me; and there lies the problem. I can’t move on if I am dragging something with me that will put me over the weight limit. I am the “numb point” now. That’s the point after you found something out and you turned it over to God but you haven’t really assessed the situation yet. I know that God is sovereign and that He already saw this situation and the result before the universe was made; I know that He has wonderful plans for me (Jer. 29:11). All I have to do is surrender.

I Wan'na Be Like You...
Oh, oobee doo
I wanna be like you
I wanna walk like you
talk like you, too
you’ll see it's true
and ape like me
can learn to be
human, too
I have been singing that song all year so far at the most random times. If you have seen the Jungle Book, you know that song is when King Louie wants to find out how to become a man from Mowgli. I remember when I was younger watching it on VHS, I would sing and dance along with my brother and sister. Singing the song back to myself now; I look at it from a spiritual aspect. We should be saying that to Jesus. We want to walk like Him, and talk like Him. We want to know the way to become a Christian; how to gain internal life. We’re tried of being in the state where we are just kidding ourselves by thinking we’re okay. Am I reading too much into the song? Probably, but God can speak to us through anything; even Disney. Lol.

What's in a Hyphen? Apparently Everything!
I have the funniest story to tell. Well, I think its funny. We were rehearsing for our Bible School graduation and they were breaking us up by class then last name, first name. So, one couple were expecting to sit next to each other when they found out that he will be sitting in the front row and she will be in the fourth. She was so upset! She claimed there had to be an error on the BibleSchool’s side; everyone did. Then we were told why they wouldn’t be sitting with each other: she hyphenated her name. So instead of sitting with the C’s (Coil) she was sitting with the V’s (Virgo-Coil). I thought it was too funny; the couple didn’t share in my humor (not surprised). When you think about it, they say two shall become one. You’re him, and he’s you. It’s not you & him; it’s YOU. She didn’t understand when I explained to her, that she isn’t Virgo anymore, she’s a Coil. Virgo was when she didn’t know him and now she does; her name should reveal it….Maybe I am just reading too much out of it, and I am not knocking anyone who hyphened their name (I know tons of people who did) but wouldn’t you want people to know who you have joined with when they read your name?

My Day - Chapter 2: The Bus Ride
This is continued from my last post, My Day - Chapter one: After School
“Oh my god!” Shouted April.
“What’s wrong?” everyone asked.
“I left my keys in my dad’s car when he dropped me off!” April exclaimed.
“Asked for it?” I suggested.
“No he left, and he’ll be home around 6 or 7.” April Replied.
“Awe what do we do?” Grace asked.
“You could just leave it open, I don’t lock my doors.” Krysta suggested.
“No, I think you should just stay, you could finish you music homework.” Patrick said.
“yea, you’re right. Ok, well have fun walking home then!” April said as she went back inside.
Everyone started walking home. We all live pretty close to each other, except for Grace. She lives on the other side of the school, but today she was coming to my apartment to hang. Kirsty, Grace, and I were planning on taking the bus to Pickering Mall. I had an assignment a few weeks ago and it involved in going to the movie theatre and seeing the movie. Sure, we could have gone some where closer like the Whitby AMC theatre, but we wanted to shop at the mall too. If they didn’t take out the Famous Player theatre in the Oshawa Centre, we would have gone there instead.
At the Taunton Street and Thickson Street, Justin headed home while others waited for the light to go another way. After Justin reached across the other side of the road, Grace blew him a kiss and he shook his head in terror. The light turned green, and the gang minus Justin headed for home.
“See you guys!” called out Kirsty as she walked towards her apartment. I live across the street from her, in the other small apartment full of old retired people or people with disabilities. “Bye!” Grace, Krysta and I Replied. I suppose Kirsty was still hungry and she was going home to eat something and drop her school stuff off. (What happened to Patrick? I suppose he just disappeared since he’s not important.)
Grace, Krysta and I crossed another street. We talked a little about the Sunday school Krysta’s taking to learn mandarin. In grade nine, I took the exact same course, so it was interesting to find out what the class was like now. Back then, the teacher hated me for being too smart (seriously). After a while, Krysta decided to go to the park and play.
Grace and I headed to my place. We planned on going with Kirsty to the Pickering Mall to go shopping, and catch the newly released movie 17 Again.
“I’ll check the bus route and map online.” I said.
“Yeah. Okay.” Replied Grace, “and check the movie times too!”
We found that the bus we should take was Route 915 Taunton East & West at 6:15pm, and the movie starts at 7:10pm. We decided to phone Kirsty for her opinion of this. Kirsty picked up the phone but at the same time she said “hi” to me on msn.
“Oops! Grace told me to call you, but you can hang up the phone. We’ll talk on msn.” I told her.
After chatting for half an hour, a conclusion came in place. We decided to meet at Pickering Mall’s food court because she wanted to finish some homework. I was worried about not being able to find each other. Grace agreed but also thought there’d be no time to shop if we waited. So we set out to catch the bus.
As we approached the Tauton bus stop, a bus was already there. We waved for the bus driver to wait for us because we weren’t there yet. The bus driver just smiled evilly and stepped on the gas pedal as soon as the light turned green. Evil, I thought. Pure Evil.
Grace laughed, “We have bad luck with buses!”
“Yea, remember last time? That bus driver saw us and drove right past us. Maybe it was because of the bikes we had with us.” I said in a sad voice.
Luckily, the next bus came within five seconds after we arrived at the bus stop. We got on quite successfully, paid, sat down comfortably, and started chatting about boys.
“You know that cute Asian guy with highlighted hair from grade nine?” I asked.
“Yeah, didn’t he disappear?” Grace replied.
The conversation carried on, surprises were revealed, people were named, Grace gasped and guys were evaluated.
Grace continued gasping. Then the bus arrived at a Go station, we got off naturally and headed towards the mall automatically. We continued talking about guys: from high school days to our puppy loves of kindergarten, and time flew by.
“Where’s the mall? I swear there was a bridge, and we’d be there by now.” Grace asked questionably.
“You’re right,” I replied, “I don’t see the mall at all, or the large parking lot.”
“Let’s go ask that gas station over there.” said Grace as she started off towards the gas station. I followed.
“Excuse me, where’s the Pickering mall?” I asked the man at the counter.
“Oh. Just go way down this street and turn right at Liverpool.” He told us confidently.
“Okay, thank-you!” we said happily. Feeling grateful for the help, we set out towards the mall again.
We walked on the side of the road, because there were no sidewalks. There were lots of bugs though; they came at us from everywhere. One of them almost went into my mouth and another almost hit Grace’s eye. They even followed us when we tried to run away.
Another peculiar thing happened as we walked on the rocky ground with pebbles. Cars kept on honking at Grace and me. I don’t understand why. Grace was in a t-shirt and sweatpants, still carrying her backpack with books and a sweater inside. I was in a loose t-shirt and jean capris, carrying a smaller backpack with my wallet and camera inside. I know the phrase honk if you’re horny is used commonly describing horny guys honking at hot girls, but Grace and me? We were not even coming close to being a tease, yet the honking continued.
“That’s the 5th honk! 6th if you include that one car that honked at us because we were blocking the road.” Grace exclaimed.
“Why is this happening? Are we not suppose to walk here or something?” I questioned.
“Because we’re hot!” Grace laughed.
“I really doubt that…” I said in a suspicious tone, still trying to figure out why. “Hey how come we walked all this way and we still don’t see the darn mall?” I asked again, “Look at all this hay! I feel like we’re in some kind of desert or something!”
“Yeah, do you think we’re in another city?” Grace questioned further.
There was a pause of silence, then my eyes widened. “We’re in Ajax!” I shouted, “We got off at the wrong Go Station!”
Grace also increased the size of her eyes, staring at me blankly for a few second. “Uhhm, I think you’re right!” Grace agreed, “I knew it was too fast! The bus ride was too short, it usually takes like 20 minutes to get to Pickering Go Station.”
“Mmhmm, and we just stopped at on station, that would only mean we got off at the Ajax Go station.” I continued in a tired and depressed tone.
Not much was said after we found out we were in a different city. I guess Grace feel the same as I do, down, tired, hungry, and worst of all, lost. We continue to walk along the path, since there were no bus stops, pay phones, or even a building in sight. It was just bugs and us. We often randomly run for a while, to rid those pesky flies, and then walk again when the bugs seemed to have dispersed.
“Look!” shouted Grace, as she pointed towards something ahead of us, “It’s a train track!”
“What?” I said in shock, but then I realized it must be the train tracks leading from the Ajax Go Station to the Pickering Go Station. We were on the right path!
“Don’t you see? The train tracks! They’re so cool, take a picture of me!” Grace demanded.
“Alright, but you got to take a picture of me too!” I negotiated.
“Deal.” Grace agreed.

This is a video i took while walking.
For some reason we thought it'd be a good idea to dedicate
the video to our friend April because
she wanted to walk and explore with us.
Thanks to Grace who helped me type and think of the details when writing this chapter.

For some reason we thought it'd be a good idea to dedicate
the video to our friend April because
she wanted to walk and explore with us.
Thanks to Grace who helped me type and think of the details when writing this chapter.
Kindle? No Thanks.
So as some of you know, I am a die hard book reader. I mainly read Christian Chick- Lit now (so I don’t have any unnecessary stuff circulating around in my head) and Classics……mainly JANE AUSTEN! (Did I mention I absolutely love her?) I found out about a device called a “kindle” when I was on the train heading home the other day. I remember hearing about it a while back but thought it would phase itself out, but they have been pushing it more and more. Now, I am eco-friendly; I do the paper bags, recycle, etc. but when it comes to books I have to draw the line. A book is something you should never replace. Make them thinner or smaller if you need to but don’t give me a little piece of electronics and tell me I can store a bunch of books on it. I refuse to cheat on my books! What is supposed to happen to bookstores? alibris.com? I want to from a coup d’etat! LOL; I’m just joking. That would be a little too extreme. But as long as they don’t try to phase of my books, we will have an unspoken truce between us.

Kristen Stewart - Catch That Kid, Catch That Girl, Mission Without Permission

Catch That Kid! is a 2004 film directed by Bart Freundlich. Catch That Kid is a remake of the Danish blockbuster Klatretøsen (2002). Catch That Kid movie's working titles were Mission Without Permission (also the film's UK title) and Catch That Girl. It's usually spelled Catch That Kid!.
Catch That Kid! tell about... Maddy (Kristen Stewart) is a girl who loves to climb. One day while her dad is climbing a mountain, he falls while freeclimbing a 100 foot peak. He suffers some pain from this, but finally is paralyzed from the waist down several years later while at home. An experimental operation in Denmark can save him, but the operation costs $250,000 and the family's medical insurance cannot cover it. Maddy and her two best friends, Austin and Gus, break into a high-tech bank vault, designed by Maddy's own mother, to get the money. The vault is suspended 100 feet above the ground, which is twice the height of the water tower she normally climbs, and Maddy must use her climbing skills to get to the safe. Her friends use their computer and mechanical skills to outsmart the bank's high-tech security. In the end they get caught but when everyone hears of their plight, they donate money and along with a consultant's fee the mother gets, it proves to be more than enough.

I've Been Unfaithful
Let me explain. My beautician whom I have been seeing faithfully every 2 weeks for almost a year decides to go on vacation the week of Resurrection Sunday. It wasn't too bad because my hair was already done, but this week the burgundy hair color started to look red with brown high-lights! I assure you it looks worst than it sounds. So I needed to get my hair done ASAP. The thing is I can't walk into just any salon because as a short hair card caring girl of over 10+ years (I cut my first pixie cut at 13 years old) I have learned not everyone can style short hair. So one of my younger sisters in Christ took me to a salon her mother goes to (If you're not from the West Indies it would be hard to explain why I went in at 6:30pm and didn't get out until midnight, lol) and the end result was AMAZING! She cut my hair (just the way I wanted it) and dyed it dark brown (it looks black) and curled it so that I wouldn't have any work to do with my hair for the next week and a half! I can say it was worth the wait......the problem now is seeing my beautician when she comes back. The fact that I went to someone else will be obvious (new cut & color) so I will need your prayers that she doesn't do any damage to my hair or me, lol. Now let's look at that from a spiritual level really quick.
We are in that position everyday, we sin and the evidence is obvious to God. He can see the stains on our garments, the stench that can't be hidden with perfume. The amazing thing is that He takes us back every single time, cleans us up and puts us on our feet and in the right direction every single time. But He does tell us this one thing "....go and sin no more" (John 8:11). I looked up the word repent recently and came to this amazing realization: when you repent you turn away from the sin that cause the separation between you and God. You are in one direction and when you seek God's forgiveness, you turn and walk in the opposite direction. So that had me wondering, those of us (and I include me) who sin, ask God for forgiveness, sin, ask God for forgiveness for the same thing, we have to realize that we're not repenting. If we were, we wouldn't have to keep going back to God about the same thing over and over. We need to come before God, place the problem before Him, LEAVE IT THERE, and walk in the opposite direction. Need an example on how to approach God in prayer about a sin, repent, and go back into fellowship with God? Read Psalm 51. David, who was called "A Man after God's Own Heart", practically, committed every single sin when you read about the story about him and Bathsheba. But he didn't let the sin prevent him from getting back into fellowship with God. He went before God asking for a clean heart and a right spirit, something that we have to ask for ourselves. You must remember your heart affects everything; it's what's in your heart that affects the way you act and behave..... Wow. I didn't mean to go on like that, but it needs to be said sometimes. And you know what they say "sharing is caring". Be blessed.

All You Can Eat? Want to Bet?
So, I hung out with my Youth President Monday. We were looking for a restaurant for my cousin's Bachelor Party (we're Christian folk so that excludes strip clubs, booze and all the things you wished you never did). Any who, we went to this restaurant in Queens called Green Fields. It's this Brazilian style place that runs like a buffet (if you knew how much my cousin eats in under an hour, you would understand why we picked this place) and the cool part is they have this stop and go system that controls the meat. It looks like a salt and pepper shaker, it is green on one side and red on the other. You put it on green and they keep coming to you with different types of meats. I actually had to slow down believe or not; but it was only because I am working with a disabled mouth (I haven't had my root canals yet). But when my teeth are done, I will be back for vengeance and they will regret it! (Insert evil laugh here, lol).

My Day!
This is the Day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it! Imagine if you said that everyday as a declaration? You will have your whole mood set. I have been thinking lately about how to make my day even better. I have been making sure I did simple things like: smiling more, greeting people in the morning, and thinking about how I can be more productive for others instead of just myself. I want to be able to help others, to make a difference in the lives of those who need a listening ear, a helping hand, etc. I am going to figure out how to make others day better and that will help make mine better as well.

My Day - Chapter one: After School
This is a true story of what happened to me yesterday. I actually planned on writing about the whole thing in one entry, but i ended up writing it in novel form. So this will be the first chapter of that day. I have future plans of gathering some of my blogs like this to make them into a book.
My day on April 17th, 2009 started like any other day, but the real story started after school. Kirsty, Grace, and I met up at our school's courtyard, our normal after school hangout. Justin, Krysta, and Patrick were there too. After a few minutes of talking and teasing, we all decided it was time to go home. The warm breeze blew through my hair, with the bright sunray shining down on us. It felt superb, like nothing bad is in this world, my worries of homework and life had drifted away like the dirt on my shoe.
When we got to the intersection, a car stopped on the other side of the street. A petit girl with raven black hair tied in a ponytail came out. It was April. We all crossed the road when the light turned green to meet up with April. She was especially cheery and jumpy.
"I made it! It went perfect!" exclaimed April.
"Congratulations! You're now officially opening up your crape business?" I replied.
"Yup! But I can't believe it was so easy! I spent all night preparing for this interview and all they did was look at my proposal and said I’m good. I'm still happy though! I'm getting $3000 from them and I just got my math test mark back this morning, I got 100%!" said April.
“I’m so happy for you!” said Grace.
“I’m so envious! See Patrick? I told you April was going to be more successful than you!” I said jokingly.
“wh-wh-WHAT? Uhhgg. I’m just lazy! You’ll see, you’ll see!” Patrick shouted in his defence. Everyone laughed at him. He’s such a typical easy target to make fun off.
“You guys hungry? My dad made a lemon moraine pie, but it’s way too sweet for me. I had one bite this morning and it made me feel sick! We’re going to throw it out, unless you guys want it?” asked April.
“AH! Of course! I’m so hungry!” exclaimed Grace.
“And Patrick will eat anything.” I added.
“Really?” April laughed.
“Yea it’s true, and I don’t grow fat either!” Patrick confirmed.
Everyone agreed that they were hungry and that they will help April waste less food. We took our time getting to April’s house, because the weather was too nice to go inside. We walked in our usual formation; the girls cluster in the front chatting and giggling, while the guys follow a few metres behind either whispering or talking loudly. Actually, talking loudly is an understatement describing the volume of their voice.
“Guys wait out here for a second, ok? I got to ask my dad if you guys can come in first.” said April.
“Yea sure of course.” I replied. April hopped off into her house happily.
“Her success makes me feel disappointed at myself. She’s not even a senior in high school yet, but she’s already starting her own business!” I said to myself, not realizing I was talking out loud.
“Well that’s April for ya!” said Krysta. That stopped my thinking process and made me realize what I just said.
“I am very happy for her though.” I added. I didn’t want anyone to think I was jealous or anything, though I might be, I’ll just be in denial about it.
April’s door opened again. “You guys can come in!” She yelled. Everyone rushed to get inside and get the first piece of the pie.
The pie looked normal enough, though it had more cream than I would like. The first bite was taken by Patrick, typical. “mmm it’s good!” said Patrick in satisfaction.
“But it’s so sweet!” April countered.
I took a spoon full to see who was right. My eyes widened and I made a fish face. My right eye started to twitch slightly.
“What’s wrong with your face?!” Grace asked.
“I just make weird faces when I eat.” I lied.
“See I told you it was too sweet” April insisted.
“No, actually, it’s more sour than sweet to me.” I said. That was why my face had those unrecognizable expressions. The pie was way to sour. But I was hungry too so I had some more. I was getting all the crust, because they were the most editable part in the pie to me.
“Yea it’s pretty sour” Said Kirsty, who had stopped eating.
Patrick used his fork and swirled his fork in circular motion to get all the cream.
“Ew Patrick” Said April.
“What? Just helping you finishing the pie. The cream is good!” said Patrick.
“Why are you so gross Patrick, stop that.” said Justin as he scoops a piece of the pie where Patrick didn’t ruin.
“I think he just ruined the pie.” Said Krysta.
“Yea…” I put my fork down. The pie was a big mess, and most of the crust was eaten.
No one else touched the pie. “You guys done?” asked April. Everyone replied yes, so April threw out the last few pieces. No one was actually full, but it was a good teaser. The pie made me hungrier, but at the same time I felt a bit fat. I had quite a bit of cream, and I felt my teeth were rotting.
“April could we play Ping-Pong?” Asked Justin.
“Yea! I got to pwn this noob.” Added Patrick.
“Yeah right!” Justin shot back.
“Sure, go for it.” Said April.
“Ohh! And I haven’t seen you basement yet, I’m going too!” I said as I followed the guys down the stairs.
The basement was cool, with a refreshing scent. The guys had already started their Ping-Pong match. There was a large red couch behind the Ping-Pong table. I walked towards it and sat down. Patrick was on the side that was closer to the couch. His boxers were showing due to his useless belt. The low ridding style really makes his butt look flat, but I didn’t want to comment on that. Noises were herd from the stairs, as four pairs of feet walked down. The girls came down to share the couch with me. April brought her piano homework.
“Is that harmony? Graced asked April ask she peeked at April’s homework.
“No, they’re music analysis. Gahh! I don’t get it!” April replied.
“Let me see!” said Grace as she took the booklet from April.
A small orange ball flew pass my head.
“Whoa!” Kirsty and I said simultaneously.
“Sorry bought that!” Justin apologized as Patrick ran behind the couch to get the Ping-Pong ball.
“How dare you!” I shouted and got to the Ping-Pong ball first. I threw the Ping-Pong ball at him, but he dodged it. Everyone was laughing; I chuckled at the sight of Patrick running after the ball, again.
“That’s for almost hitting us!” I exclaimed.
“Wh-wh-what?” Patrick stuttered, “It wasn’t even me! Justin was the one who smashed the Ping-Pong ball!”
“Well I blame you because you’re closer,” I replied, “I’m going to use the washroom now.” I flipped my hair back and walked up the stairs.
I was on my monthly. Mother Nature’s gift to me. I hate it. Some times I wished I was a guy so I wouldn’t have to deal with this, but no, I’m a girl. I changed my pad because I wasn’t allowed to use tampons. My mother thinks it’s bad and I might loose my virginity to it. She said I’m only allowed to use it after I marry my prince charming. Just then, sharp laughter pierced through the silence in the washroom. After I finished my business I went back into the basement. The girls were on the couch laughing.
“What’s so funny? What happened?” I asked with a confusing face.
“Justin’s butt is nicer than Patrick’s!” Said Grace.
I looked over at the boys, they were still playing Ping-Pong. Their position had been switched; Justin was now closer to the couch with his back towards the girls. April was going crazy, she one of those girls that laugh non-stop at things. I must admit, it was funny, and so true.
I sat back down again. The guys switched back to their original position. Patrick’s flat backside was facing us.
“Pull up your pants Patrick” said April.
“What? I like my pants low like that.” Replied Patrick.
“you know what I’ll pull them up for you” I said as I moved closer to Patrick.
“What are you doing…” said Patrick in a suspicious voice as he backed away from me.
“I’m going to pull up your pants for you since you refuse to do it yourself.” I smirked.
“I don’t like that look,” said Patrick, “I know you’re going to give me a wedgy!” Patrick started to run around to the other side of the Ping-Pong table.
“Trap him!” I shouted. Justin blocked Patricks way. All the girls got off the couch to grab Patrick. He was actually hard to catch, he found a seat beside the Ping-Pong table and sat down. He had a satisfied smile on his face. “You can’t give me a wedgy now! HA!” he said. “What ever, I’ll get you another time.” I said.
“Hey guys, want to go outside?” asked April, “It’s so nice outside!”
“Yeah I want to go outside too.” Agreed Kirsty.
“Alright! Let’s go.” Said Krysta as she smiled.
“Are you guys almost done?” Grace asked the guys.
“Yeah I’ll win in a few second.” Said Justin as he makes another smash at Patrick. The Ping-Pong ball went flying.
“Win? More like lose!” said Patrick.
“Hurry up! Said the impatient Kirsty.
Justin and Patrick put their paddle down. “Alright, let’s go.” Justin said.
Everyone walked up the stairs. Kirsty took her backpack. I took the hint that she didn’t plan on coming back, so I took mine too. Grace probably saw that so she asked me to pass her backpack to her. We put on our shoes and went outside.
and we all went home! the end! ...JUST KIDDING! well this is getting a bit long, so i'm ending the first chapter here. I'll start working on the next one soon.
Edit: Next Chapter's up! My Day - Chapter 2: The Bus Ride

Empty Me.....Please!
I think I am talking to myself more than anyone else these days. God has been dealing with me about seeking Him and consecrating myself. It is easier said than done but with all the ministries I am in, I see why I need to be constantly on my face and in His presence. I was listening to a song on my way to a Women's Service called "Empty Me". That song said everything I wanted to say. And to add to it, the minister at the service said the same thing. She discussed how we need to go before the Lord and ask Him to remove the appetite for the things that are not of Him and replace it with the cravings that He placed in us. We struggle with things in our lives that are not of God but if we remember the word the Bible tells us that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loose in heaven. We have to remember that when we ask God to remove something that we ask Him to replace it with something else that is of God. Perfect example: the fruits of the spirit and the fruits of the flesh. We need to be removed and emptied of the remnants and traces of the old man and be replaced completely with the new man that is in Christ Jesus.

It's Time To Make A Move!
We (Christians) are so dormant sometimes. We have this amazing gift that is Jesus Christ in our life but we don't share it like we should. There are so many lost souls out there looking for something, someone to fill that God-shaped hole inside of them and we look the other way instead of introducing them to the solution. It's time to start a revolution! To go back to the old school methods! God is still the God He was yesterday, He can still move in amazing ways and do miracles. Will you let Him use you to bring others to Christ? It's time for us to make a move, stand up, and stand out for Jesus! Be blessed.

If you're wondering why poop on your face is the title, well there's a simple explanation. It's one of my favorite phrases to say, especially when it's super silent.
=====
Teacher: ok class you can start doing your homework so you wont have to bring the heavy textbooks home!
*Everyone silents does their work*
Lily(me whispering):....psstt... April!
April:...?
Lily:poop on your face!
*Everyone turns to look at me*
Lily:...what?
April: I SWEAR I DON'T KNOW HER!
Lily: but of course you do!
*Everyone starts to laugh*
Teacher: settle down class! continue working please! and you! be quiet Lily, or you'll end up outside of my class
=====
ah what a wonderful short story on how i use that phrase huh?
anyways, i'll start the introduction i guess.
i am lily, currently 16 and lives in Ontario.
i am one of those Banana you could say; Yellow on the outside and white on the inside. i was born in china, but immigrated with parents to Canada when i was in grade 3. i now have a horrible weird somewhat English somewhat Taiwanese accent when i speak Mandarin and my parents divorced 2 or 3 years ago. i have somewhat of a Taiwanese accent due to the fact that i watch way to many Taiwanese dramas... i turn to the online community for entertainment and dealing with my parents divorce, because i was close with both my parents. my dad was the one who kinda of broke away, he moved out and now enjoys his life with many other women. my mom being the traditional Chinese she is, is sobbing over this divorce every single day. (traditionally divorces don't even happen in china, but now more and more people are, yet my mom refuses to believe she lives in the year 2009). She not only doesn't want to go out to find another partner, she is driving me crazy by not allowing me to or lecturing me about how i need a stable job a house, finished university education, and many, many more. now you see why i choose to ignore her most of the time and surf online for interesting videos?
that's a bit about my personal life, so now on with the professional. i'm a full time high school student, no part time jobs or anything. yes, i'm lazy and random and weird, deal with it :) i started to get into photography in grade 8 because of my dad. i moved on in grade 10 because a few of my friends. we wanted to make a fun random video to make fun of one of our friend Patrick Ho. so we made fan club videos for him. They're uploaded on my youtube channel and "Patrick Ho Fan club" on Facebook. you guys should join the group :P no one's active there anymore >.< we got tired of making fun of him! D:
and my youtube channel's in my signature thing, along with my blog and web site.
now after we made the funny fan videos, i realized how fun it was and decided to use my ancient youtube account. i originally made it to watch videos, but at that time i only had dial up so the internet was way too slow for me to watch any videos online. thus i never touch youtube since. but now i have cable and i constantly upload new videos full of bundles of me!
i'd tell you more about me but i think this is already a bit too much :P
you know what they say! TMI TMI TMI!

Who Would You Do?
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to a brand new episode of everyone's favourite game show... Say it with me now... Who. Would. You .Dooooo?!
Please play along at home by leaving a comment with your answers!
Our first contestant today is Seth Rogan. He's funny, he smokes a lot of weed, and best of all he's from Vancouver! What do you think? Do-able?

No? What about the new and improved, cut-back-on-the-munchies or perhaps switched-to-the-white-stuff Seth Rogen?
You know you would! We all saw that scene in Zack and Miri Make a Porno! Mmmm.
Contestant numero deux is everyone's favourite SNL funnyman Andy Samberg without whom we would have never had a huge motorcycle jumping ramp in the Cloverdale Fairgrounds for months last year. Take a lookie-loo:
Not impressed? Or do you have the same response as my sister Nicole "I'd do his personality" Douma? Well try this one...

I know what you're thinking: "He can put his dick-in-my-box anyday!"
Last but not least we have a Who Would You Do Showdown... Who Would You RATHER Do? Jeremy Piven or Adrian Grenier. Both are Entour-ific stars ripping it up on everyone's favourite male soap opera. It's a close call.
Jeremy (we're on a first name basis) has that little-man Napoleon power complex thing going on... HOT.

Adrian has that chill, I'm too cool to brush my hair thing going on... Also HOT.

I can't decide! Input please!

Hey Mickey!
About a month ago I went out with a guy a few times who we will refer to as Mickey.
The whole thing had me confused. We went out 5 times... never cuddled, never made out... never did anything except peck goodbye once and I initiated it. But he still kept asking me to hang out. I couldn't really figure out if I liked him or not. I was kinda waiting for the make-out stage... because that can be a deal maker or breaker, but it never happened.
Then he started to annoy me. I had told him that I'm scared of semi-trucks on the freeway... so when we were driving to Abbotsford he thought it would be funny to drive alongside one. Sorry if I don't laugh when I'm scared for my life. He also was telling me that he was going to get Nitrous for his car. REALLY? NOS? Who are you, Vin Diesel? He also texted me all the time, even after I told him I hate having long text convos back and forth. If you want to talk CALL me! All we did was make fun of each other. It was almost like he was my annoying little brother that I wanted to punch.
Eventually I just started ignoring his texts. He got the hint. Sad Mickey.
I saw on Facebook the other day that he got in a fight this weekend. Good call Danielle.

Something New
I love discovering new things. New Hairstyles, trends, music, art, etc. it makes me excited! I was on the train today listening to my new fav today: Brooke Fraser's (Ligertwood) Albertine album and I wanted to see the video again for Shadowfeet. So I was going through her videos and came across a song she sung with Hillsong United called "Hosanna". There are no words to describe the way I felt when I heard that song. It was amazing! My favorite verse in the song is "I see a generation, rising up to take the place; with selfless faith, selfless faith. I see a near revival, stirring as we pray and seek; we're on our knees, we're on our knees." The song is an empowering for the Youth of today. She is an anointed songwriter, and I don't say that to say it. I am very picky about certain songs I listen to, but when you read her lyrics you see she is a vessel being used by the Lord. I pray her continue strength. I am so excited because she is in the studio working on her third album, which means I will be able to see her when she tours the US. So excited!

Procrastination Never Pays
Waiting to the last minute to get something done used to be my motto. I used to strive under pressure, nowadays I feel like I am done for when I wait to the 11th hour. So today is the last day to file taxes. Mine are done only because I had some one do it for me but I have seen people deliberately wait until the last minute and now they are running around like a chicken without a head. We have to remember that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, it's better to accept Jesus into your heart today than to die and be lost tomorrow. To think that tomorrow is promised to us makes us foolish; it's by God's grace we can wake up and see another day. So I ask you my friend: do you know Jesus as your personal Savior? If not, why don't you let Him in? This it the 11th hour; will you let it come and go and lost your chance?

Am I Strong Enough?
The day is getting closer and closer for me to deliver my sermon for Bible School and I feel like my stomach is forming a mosh pit when I think about it. I have delivered the word before but I always feel like they should use someone else. Why use me? Am I strong enough to deliver a message? I know that fear is a spirit that is not given by God. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." So I will tell myself "I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthen me" (Phil. 4:13). So, I will have to take deep breaths and pray I don't pass out. LOL, keep me in prayer.

Life's Too Short!
When I find myself stressing the unimportant little things, I just take a deep breath and remind myself that life is too short! I should be doing more for others than for myself. I always remember that Ministry means to serve others; it's a service that we provide to help others spiritually. Our Young Women's Ministry is starting a can food drive and suggested in the winter we volunteer at a soup kitchen. I remember when we went into a nursing home; there were people there who were so alone and our company blessed them. I made me feel good that I could pray for someone who needed it and they felt blessed. When you look at the people who have nothing and no one, you appreciate everything more.

What Today Means...
Today is the day that Jesus rose from grave. He died so that we would could have life and have it more abundantly. He died so that we could have free access to the Father, so we didn't have to slay the lamb; He was the ultimate Lamb. We can now come before Him freely, how cool is that? I thank Jesus for paying the price I couldn't pay, for being bruised and battered, for taking on ALL my sins (which are a lot!), and for the nails in His hands and feet for me. No one can tell me God isn't awesome! He sent His only son to take on the sins of the world. He didn't have to do it but He did; and for that I am truly grateful. Be blessed.

Lord Give Me the Patience
"Lord give me the patience, I need to hold out. Lord give the strength to fight this battle."
This chorus has been on my mind a lot lately. I need patience because lately I feel like I am going to throw a serious monkey wrench in the Lord's plan for my life and ruin everything. Sigh. I know I am the only one that will let God have His way or fight it. So as I wait the Lord will strengthen me and keep me.

The Great Comedian
Sometimes I wonder if God is up there laughing away with the angels when He watches our reaction to things He has planned in our life. I say this because; I look at my cousin and his fiancèe who is my best friend. They never thought they would end up together; they never even looked at each other that way and then: BAM!

Lost In Translation
There are days when that's all I hear from others: a whole brunch of Charlie Brown teacher womp, womps. Lol. It just feels like so many things get lost in translation these days and a lot of actions always get misinterpreted because we assume the other person knows what we are trying to say even when we don't say it. SMH. I think it's just me sometimes.

Zac Efron's Pool Party
"If I had a nickel for every time you gave me a boner I'd have 400 dollars... and 5 cents."
Where Do We Begin?
Last night, we had our monthly Youth Meeting. This involves the leaders and staff in the Youth Ministry (Youth President, Vice President, secretaries) and those who deal with the youth on a regular basis. We were faced with a difficult question: how to reach those in our ministry? Our problem area seems to be our high school students. I know why, they are at an age where they are curious and don't want to stick to one thing; but to be involved in everything! The youth these days have it a lot harder than those who were their age decades before them. A lot of them come from broken homes, single parent households, the ghetto, and are dealing with drugs, sex, gangs, gay & lesbian issues, etc. The only way to able to reach them is to tackle them one by one. We have to address each person so we can figure out how to reach them. We can't put them in a group because each child is different. I have the blessing and the curse of being close to the age group that we're targeting. The blessing: being able to know what they are going through. The curse: Having to sign up for unlimited texting so I don't put my phone bill through the roof, lol. But seriously, I know how hard our work is going to be for us but with the strength that only God can give, we will be able to lead them all in the right direction.

It Takes Time....
Normally in this society if nothing works, we automatically want to throw it out and replace it with a new one. We don't get warranties anymore because we can always upgrade later. We are always looking for something bigger, better, thinner, smaller, and faster; even in the aspect of our growth. We don't want to slow down and repair ourselves, we want a quick fix. Diet pills, cleansers, anything to speed up the process instead of taking it day by day. I find myself thinking like that sometimes. I want to be able to do Pointe (dancing on your toes in Ballet) but it takes time. You have to strengthen your core, your legs and ankles before the teacher will consider you for Pointe classes. It's better to slowly build from the inside out than to jump right into the outside structure. It won't stand without a proper foundation. We have to constantly remind ourselves it's a daily process.....Any who, my job is having you a "Roadshow". In the insurance biz, that's a meet and greet during the day where you introduce your lines of insurance with hope of working with new brokers/clients. So it means it's really quiet at work; I love this time of year. In this quiet I feel comfortable, I feel like I can relax....I was talking to my mother this morning about who else? Mr. Darcy! I told her that we are so in love with the idea of him that no real man stands a chance. It brought to mind the sermon from Friday's Youth Service. We tell God what we want or what person we have in mind and sometimes it's nothing like the person God has for us. We become so in love with an idea that it prevents us from being able to love the actual person when they are brought before us.

Same Direction
I didn't go to church yesterday because I woke up late from the late night prepping for my niece's birthday. I ended getting up around 11 and decided I needed to do laundry since I missed Morning & Mid-Morning Services. I even considered visiting one of the churches in my neighborhood but since they're all Spanish speaking churches I had to rule that out. Any who; as I was coming and going from the Laundromat and my apartment (I live across the street from the Laundromat) listening to my French lessons, I started to think; "can they see the difference?" I was walking in the midst of Christians getting out from service. The youth were more casual then mine; they were wearing jeans and sneakers; hanging outside of the church talking and joking amongst themselves. I wanted to know if people could see the difference. I wasn't in my usual Sunday attire but could they see the Jesus in me? We are all walking in the same direction at one point in our lives; but does anyone notice when we walk in the opposite direction? I want to be set apart in not words only but in deed; and that's where it gets hard for a lot of us. How do we show we're a Christian without shouting it from the rooftops and walking around wearing a label? We have to make sure they see it when we talk, and walk; every action should mimic Jesus.

My, My, My....Someone's Getting Big
Today is my niece 2nd Birthday! I am a proud and doting aunt/godmother! I remember the day she was born, it was a Friday. I ran to the store to buy receiving blankets, wash cloths, baby wash, the works. I can tell you when I saw her it was love at first sight. She was this little, pink bit of nothing that was looking at everything and everyone. My brother was a mess that day; I knew once he held her, he was a goner. She got bigger, fatter, and independent. She was pulling herself by 4-5 months and walking by 6 months. At 7, she running EVERYWHERE! Now she is 2 years old going on 35. She knows all the key words: please, thank you, yes, no, why, stop, etc. We have this family joke that she can say sentences. People expect her to do it when all she can say is the word "sentences", lol. She's a blessing from God. I thank God for her everyday; even when she is climbing on my bed to put on my jewelry, getting under my the covers with me, or when she is wearing auntie's stilettos (which she loves to do).
